Since the M850i was already sporty and agressive I didn't expect that the M8 will look that much different, so I'm not disappinted in that regard and I thinks it looks good.

But the front bumper is really not good, I don't like it at all. It's actually maybe the first time I prefer the front bumper of the "regular" M sport version (and I always loved the front bumpers of the M cars). It looks too flat, not agressive at all and these black/carbon parts actually make it even worse. On the other side, the rear is better since it's looks kinda cleaner.

And I'm not happy about the direction BMW goes with their wheel design lately. I don't care about black wheels, it just doesn't look good to me (these two-colored versions aren't much better). For the X3 M they don't even have a full silver option, I hope this will not be the case with the M3 G80.

I can't wait for the first M8 reviews and comparisons.

Wasn't a fan of the "spoiler" on the back of the M6 coupé but this one looks waaaaay worse and turns an otherwise decent looking car into a joke. It looks like the type of thing someone who adds a fake M badge on the back of their 220d Active Tourer throws in as well, just a bit ridiculous

Are the power figures available in kW?
"hp" unit is different from "PS"
here we have 600 and 617 hp which equal 608 and 625 PS

since the M5's engine outputs are 591 hp (600 PS) and 617 hp (625 PS), I am confused

do we have 600 hp and 617 hp? or just like the M5 (591 and 617)?

power in kW would make it clear

those M8 coupé and convertible are stunning!!
I wish the instrument cluster was configurable in a way that makes it possible to choose to display M5's cluster or even the good old BMW's orange instrument cluster with gauges (since it's digital, it is possible to do it)

It’s primary competitor, the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet, similarly shares specs with the M5’s primary competitor, the E63. BMW boasts slightly better performance but has a lower MSRP, and they apparently believe that they can beat their opponent on those merits without the additional investment into the engine. It would appear to be a good business case.

Love it. Then again I love the entire 8 series lines. Grown up, sophisticated with all the performance anyone would want. This is a alpha car. Forget a comparison with MB. Let MB be them and BMW be you. BMW has a completely different driving dynamic. I do think the black Competition badges look cheap in general and in a odd placement on the 8 series. They can be removed so no big deal.
I’ll take mine in Carbon Black please,

At 600 HP and 4000+ lbs, does it really matter?

Actually, it's the Mustang that has the side profile of a BMW, even though the 8 series came out after the 6th generation Mustang.. here's why:

(the first five generations of the Mustang don't look like BMW's)

Mustang copies the Hofmeister kink in the 6th generation

As some have stated, I prefer the M850 front fascia. Mine has all the carbon bits and it looks just as sporty which is a problem in my opinion. BMW missed the mark not using the concept bumper. Maybe an aftermarket vendor can produce a similar one for the masses. Bet it would sell like hotcakes. Everything else on the M8 looks great.

They're the same wheel style, just different paint finish.

What makes me laugh is that small spoiler. What does it generate, like 1 gram of downforce? lol
