Driver Assistance Restricted

Greetings fellow members, I keep getting this warning pop up while driving. After some time it fixes itself, but then it comes up again and this sequence continues on and on non stop.

Could you please tell me what could be the problem. I've heard something about bad batch of Kafas, but maybe its something else here?

Want to sell the car and can't list it because of this issue. PLEASE HELP <3

Make sure your sensors aren’t covered with dirt.. I get this everytime in car wash or during heavy rain

I received the same message after the car in front of me backed into my front bumper. Fortunately, the large front sensor was not damaged (a $5,000 repair). The service advisor thought it might be a bent bracket holding the sensor, but their diagnostic showed it was simply a broken fuse. The part was $3 and labor was $495.

Thank you for your info. The front sensor is crystal clear and everything works on the car - lane assist, vibrations, autopilot, pedestrian or car collision braking, etc.

What fuse did you change? and how to find out what is causing this problem?

Some say its a bad batch of kafas, some say it could be the abs speed sensor that sits on the suspension...

Any other answers?

I would get your local dealership to fix it.
I most likely will need to flash it, but since you are in Georgia, I don't feel comfortable doing it remotely.

I recall BMW did have some KAFAS camera issues back in 2019 and maybe into 2020. Could be this, but could also be several other things, including a software issue.

Do you think that software update might do the trick?

This is the description of the fuse issue: "Customer states there is a self driving reduce warning coming on. Front safety cross track coming on. Some type of front impact to the front sensor area. Diag. and Advise. Blown 5 Amp fuse and recalibration needed. Performed short test. Found multiple faults for front sensors. 3 modules not communicating. Performed test plan. Found 5 Amp fuse blown. Installed new fuse. Recalibrate front sensor. Cleared faults. Reset modules. Test drove vehicle. Warning light is off. Front sensors are working properly."

If helpful, the fuse FP number is 61-13-6-917-401 (Fuse Mini, Yellow-B).
