M8 Sop 7/2019?

With the X3M/X4M officially announced today, with SOP 4/2019 that also lines up with MY 2020 X3/X4 series SOP, the current 8 series MY 2019 EOP is 6/2019. Figure that the announcement for the M8/M8 comp will be around May 2019?

The M sport seats for the X3M/X4M (standard for the competition models) appear to be almost identical to the leaked M8 comp seats.

Is the SOP for x3 M April? I thought it was July so they come out as MY2020 together will all other x3s adn x4s.

July seems to be a big month for BMW - all models getting updates to new dash, Nav 7.0, new engines in all V8s, updated B58 engine in all I6 models.

So M8 - is it just a coupe or Grand coupe as well? July as well?

For example, the MY 2018 M5 had a very short model year, as the MY 2019 F90 started July 2019 to include the competition.

BMW AG has the product pipeline mapped out 10 years in advance. Introduction of the new V8 M50 engines, iDrive 7.0, B58 I6, ect., has been years in the making.

The initial M8's are coupe and convertible, as the 8 GC hasn't been introduced to date. The press had M8 prototype test drives November 2018, so the release can't be that far off.

I thought the M8 was expected to be revealed at Geneva in a month

A colleague of mine who lives in Belgium saw the M8 last month at the Brussels BMW Brand Store in a "dark room" i.e. no pictures allowed and told me it looks identically to the leaked spy photographs from December 2018. However, he has informed me that "M8 will only be launched in November [2019]".

I find this hard to believe almost 12 months would have passed from the press prototype drives.

I agree seems much too separated. Maybe first deliveries in Nov.

This was also my understanding. I hope it's true.
