Fitting a Dash cam, parking-mode battery and speed camera alert to a new G15
Hi, I've just completed hardwiring a Blackvue 900s-2c, a Powermagic B124 parking mode battery and a Cheetah c550 GPS Speed camera system to my new G15. If anyone wants me to post a how-to with the fuse location and wiring routes, I'd be happy to do so. Let me know if it will be useful to anyone.

Wow, that's expensive stuff! I know it's small beer compared to the cars value, but i assume you see a big risk that needs covering. I've been out of the UK for 8 years is it that bad? I just spent a week in the UK, South, Midlands and East and it was busy on the roads, but no issues. Driving fast was impossible as the roads are crap and too much traffic and cameras.

The front/rear dash cam is just healthy paranoia. — I've used them for years, and have once saved me from a 50:50 insurance claim by showing 100% third party blame. Additionally I think they help me drive better, and have also helped several motorists and cyclists in London who have been involved in accidents that I have witnessed. I also like the 24 hours of parking mode video when I leave the car in tight car parks. For me, the Cheetah is a good way to avoid mistakes. I seldom speed in the UK, but long journeys can lead to mistakes, so I'm pleased to have the reminders of speed cameras and known mobile speed traps locations. The Cheetah, doesn't have any active radar detection or laser detection capabilities, so is much less a distraction as an aid. It's very useful in Europe too. I think the total cost for everything was around £1,000 including a couple of spare 128Gb SD cards. Everything should last at least 4 years. I've moved my old kit from my X6 to my wife's i3. I think the tech is a good investment, but certainly not fool-proof! |

I drove 7 hours in two 3.5hr stints yesterday and i found that due to the autonomous aids it was pretty easy. Cooling seats and HUD are bigs aids as well, but having all autonomous aids on really helps. Non-run flats also makes the ride more comfortable. Speed was 120-130 kph. Car now has almost 2000 miles and has averaged 42 UK MPG.

I was like what is the point of a red light camera detector...... Then noticed you all from across the pond. lol
My car shows up the cameras on the dash, was that an option in the UK?
