I had a 2005 650i and a 2014 640i Individual. My new 850i dravite grau with red interior is by far superior to the previous two.

Although I can understand why one would think the 8 is new 6, since the 6 is gone, the 850i definitely deserves the 8 badge. More class, better look, much better interior, better air conditioning. The car handles better and is much faster. It competes with a 911 now.

The S Class interior feels more luxurious but also tacky and older.

Weighs less than the old 6 though

Hi. To put it briefly, I love this interior. To the casual eye, it appears to be all black (or maybe all very-dark-blue), but upon slightly closer inspection, the two well-coordinated colors become attractively apparent.

I’ve tried to take and post photos for others and it just doesn’t work - the photos (that I can take) don’t come close to accurately showing the colors or the effect they create.

Fwiw, the combo as shown on the online BMW configurator is very close to how it looks in the real world.

my 2018 650i GC build quality is superb, the new 8 is on the same level if not better ; though I do have to say that the design (waterfall dash) in the 6 was executed better and gave it a more unique interior compared to the new BMW interiors.

Just missing the nice ambient lights lol

TLDR ; 8 series interior quality >= 6 series interior, but lacking in unique design

Still rather be in a 8 though :P
