Disappointed in the front bumper.

I expected a big mouth aggressive bumper

If they hadn’t made the kidneys slightly upside-down instead of normal, the car would be great! Upside-down kidneys look really bad!

Kidneys should always be wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.

They also should have kept the Hoftmeister kink like the 6-Series.

They’d better improve the rear headroom of the 6 Series Gran Coupe which was at the limit for tall people

Holy hell! This thing looks better as a 4 door coupe than the coupe itself! Can't wait to see the production version!!

The proportions work better for the 4-door design considering its size.

So I take it that you didn't know that the BMW M8 GTE race car began it's development back in 2016 and began racing in 2018? Hence why he said the 8 Series was born on the track before it became a production car.

I feel the exact same way. They should have stuck with the concept look. But hey, I won't be buying one so I'm not one to convince with the less aggressive production car.

I totally agree. If it wants to compete against the RS7 and the Panamera, it has to be practical.

Would've liked more carried over from the concept version but I'm sure it'll be good nonetheless.

If you have not sat in in the 8 Series or have not actually been inside it. There is absolutely NO legroom in the rear whatsoever! The only thing you can put in the back is your cat or dog on the seat or bags of some kind.

The 8 Series was designed from the racetrack to the street. Not the other way around which is typicality how BMW designs their vehicles.

The 8 Series Grand Coupe will be an excellent choice to compete with Porsche monster of a car.
I thought so too about legroom in the back but this video shows there's room enough for an adult, though they didn't show with the seats up.

The new taillights (especially G20) do resemble Lexus'. But it does look like BMW was heading that way with their taillights design because all models prior are essentially just the outline of the new design. Easily recognizable on the 7 & 5 series

+1 The M8 is one of a few examples in which the race car lead the street car to the showroom.
The E30 M3 was homologated from racing.... and while other E30 models had been sold.. it was a winning racing car before it hit the showroom.

Yeah man it honestly baffles me driving past Lexus' now because I don't know whether BMW copied straight from them or Lexus beat them to the punch on the design or what. Hopefully there's another design in mind they have that they'll eventually evolve too in the lci

Well, the Honda Accord Coupe has a similar length (actually a little shorter), yet it has plenty of leg room for the rear seats.
Sa it can be practical and useful while be sporty. There are plenty GT Coupes that can accommodate 4 people.
Otherwise is just a waste. 8 is nice but that's my beef with it too: no legroom in the rear. So while the car is beautiful, don't really see the purpose of the seats where nobody can sit; and since there are 2 seats only, a Z series will make more sense as is smaller and cheaper, better in gas and more nimble.
Just saying.

It's misleading. I've seen this car in person it doesn't have room for a full size adult in the back.

A lot to love

The car is bound to be great and make more sense than the coupe version owing to the weight of the base 8 series. I hope it will have useable rear leg room and not just be for show like the Mini 4 door is compared to the door version.
