2 questions please
First, does anyone else have a ridiculous amount of bluetooth lag when using their iPhone in the M8? I hate apple CarPlay so I just want to be able to stream my Spotify or play a YouTube video but I cant because its like a 20-30 second delay. Is it just my vehicle?
Second, does anyone know if they make M grill inserts like below for our F92 M8? Or painted grills? I feel like it would be a really nice touch https://www.ebay.com/itm/23230502219...3ABFBMmM36xr1i |

Only time I ever have issues with bluetooth is when my phone signal is spotty. Other than that it works great for me.
IMO; Please don't put those things on......

Crazy, so even with NOT using apple car play, your BT is synced up properly? I swear it's literally like a 20 second delay for me. Ive even disconnected and reconnected a few time and it will work 1 time properly then mess up again.

Well I don't use car play, android for me. But yes either way I have zero issues with it call connecting. If I have a phone call jump into the car start it up it will prompt to switch to car if I like. Sometimes it will auto connect to the car as well. Not sure why it does that but connecting wise solid.

I have zero Bluetooth lag on my 2020 M850i which was updated back in 2021 with the Android Auto add. I've used AA a few times primarily for Google maps when the BMW nav failed to get me to a location but haven't needed to do so in a year plus since with recent BMW map updates.
On the Bluetooth side I've taken a few rare meetings in the car via Teams and it streamed the Bluetooth perfectly. Normally I won't take a call period while in the car. On the music front it's either my SSD loaded with FLAC albums in the console via USBC or SiriusXM. However, I do use Amazon Music and their HD/Ultra HD so have some albums downloaded to my cellphone that I don't have in my personal catalog. It's not an AA supported app so when playing those albums in the car it is pure Bluetooth streaming and works flawlessly (3X better than Sirius but not an equivalent to the SSD). Like Tenac said it may be spotty cell coverage vs the Bluetooth. One thing to try which solved my spotty Bluetooth on an iD7 older release in which the phone didn't connect to the car was rebooting iDrive. Long press on the volume button for about 30 seconds. Screen should shut off (keep holding) until it starts back up. Hopefully that will fix it for you. |
