Uh-oh... Benz steps up the interior game

New C-class interior looks great.... I'm still not a fan of the infotainment screens being tacked on like ipads on a pepboys bracket (new X5 actually pulls the look off well though) and I hate to admit anything positive about Mercedes but this interior is much better looking than the F30 in my opinion. I guess we'll see if they do as nice of a job on the exterior. I've seen a few driving around LA in camo and the general shape looks good but too much camo to have an opinion yet.

I've been eyeballing these photo's for an hour at least already and I agree with your statement. It looks GREAT! It's better composed than the F30 is and there is a good reason they show these pictures first of the new C-class... they can be proud on a good job done!

Benz interiors have always been superior to BMW's in terms of fit, finish & quality of materials. My wife's '13 C250 coupe interior is better laid out and more "solidly" built than my '14 335

I drove the new cla when test driving various cars. It's interior looks much the same. It drove nice. I thought the 7 speed DSG was not as smooth as the zf 8 speed.

As far as interior looks, I think I prefer my 328d. Maybe it's the round air vents in the Benz. I came from that look in my r56 mini, and I'm tired of it.

The only negative from that picture is the shape of the air vents. Everything else looks great.

IMHO -- and I say this as someone actively shopping a 435i xd -- BMW missed an opportunity with the 4-series' interior. While I think that the driver-oriented layout is absolutely great (and a credit to the F30's interior design), the actual build quality and materials quality seems inappropriate for a car that you are charging people upward of $65k for. They made such a big deal of "distinguishing" the coupe -- all the way up to creating a new series number for it! -- but then they just carried over the same interior from the F30 sedan. It seemed like an odd choice. My guess is that they have an interior upgrade planned for the 4-series as part of a mid-cycle refresh to further differentiate between the sedan and coupe lines.

Better, but still not a fan. Drove a C350 last year when I started looking into a new car. For 50K+ I was shocked at how "cheap" the dash materials looked/felt (Audi S5 was the same); this immediately crossed these two options off my list, especially compared to what looks/feels like higher quality in the BMW.

I'm more interested to see what they do in the powertrain dept. Seems like they can only make 6L monsters or 4 bangers. Would be much more interesting if they bring something of the V6TT sort to the table.

Not in love with that center stack, ignoring materials, I like the layout of the f30 better. Clean, logical, and efficient.

Looks like Mercedes is getting into the HUD game too. When is the Audi A4 getting a refresh?

Looks astounding, like true luxury car. Too bad engines are sh!t. The 2.5 is weak and gruff, the 3.0 and 3.5 old, slow and thirsty.

And again, why did they miss an opportunity here? They will sell loads of 4s, charging more for less. Why would they spend time/money on a new & better interior when this one will sell just fine?

Don't confuse customer's POV with company's POV. They are VERY different.

No more refreshed for the A4, it was LCIed already two years ago. It's time for the new A4.

Along with the current turbo 4, there is a new turbo V6 coming and the rumored 4.0L twin turbo for the C63.

Most interiors generally look the same to me, but this one certainly looks different. I like it.

I just like the aesthetics of the layout.
