It's probably just for the testing, pre-production models. Because the engineers know that it's easier.
Of course you can't have the owners check their own oil, what is this madness? Car manufacturers would ship cars with sealed hoods if they could to force people to take them to the dealership for any minute repair.

All of the 2019 V8s have dipsticks I believe (dealer went and checked his new X5, M550, and 750).

the problem with the electronic dipstick is that the computer displays the oil to the nearest litre. they did not think to work to 1 decimal place or nearest 0.25.
had the problem on my 1 yr old f85 - asked for 1 litre and I put in. next day it wanted another 1 litre. being concerned about over filling I took it to bmw who then checked it out and it needed 0.5 litres more. why couldn't it just say on the first instance 1.5 litres. |
