"Having tires mounted and demounted semi-annually is quite a strain on the tire itself," said David Weatherhead, automotive professor at Centennial College in Toronto. "Especially with lower-profile tires, it stresses the rubber around the bead of the tire and can lead to damaging the rubber, which in turn can lead to tire degradation and, therefore, leaks."

So, I'd do it, but $6-7k is a little out of my budget for 3 months of driving. I'd rather spend the money on stuff on the car from the build.

My nice cars won't see the salt of winter....no way. What is does to them is tragic.
They are never the same after a few winters. I'd buy a lesser car to winter drive and do. Plus I have a 4x4 truck so bring it on old man winter. |
