Production M8 Gran Coupe Renders
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Hello all, as per BMW insider Scott26, the M8 Gran Coupé concept is basically the production car (a little bit like the 4 series concept). Based on that, I've done a few renders of this car with production bits, like a license plate, proper M mirrors (lol), door handles, m8 badge, proper chrome bits instead of rose gold etc... Here's how the production M8 GC should look like. Hope you'll enjoy these renders. I think the car looks ace, especially in production form and I would not change much. Even the wheels are nice! I'll be doing other body colours in the next few days... Anyone into renderings, I'd love to see more. Cheers. PS: I'll do a realistic render of the rear portion in a few days, but the concept IMO is pretty realistic as well apart from the rear lights... animated GIF showings changed bits: Attachment 1782136 Production car in original green. Production car in dark blue (my favorite): This makes the new M5 already look dated! Production car in black: Sakhir Orange: Silver: Royal Blue: Daytona Violet: White: British Racing Green: Several colors with shadow line trim Render of the rear view of the car, in original green and royal blue ;-)

Usually I wouldn't go with black on M cars, so it doesn't hide the specific details and lines, but I don't think this car needs to show anything. Beastly. Darth Vader would dig it.
Waiting for the rest, and rear ones. Maybe a good idea to make the rear lights not that dark, as the production car wont have it. |

I would be amazed if all the production version added was mirrors. I'd be willing to bet it'll be dramatically different as with all recent BMW concepts... Cool work though.

Well I think Scott meant that this is overall indeed very close to production in that most of the body, actual body panels, silhouette, kidney grille, rear lights... are identical to what they will be on the production car, contrary to the initial 8 Series Concept which was quite a bit more idealized. However, aside from the obvious side mirrors and lack of door handles and grille badge, I feel like they've also tempered a bit with some other less obvious parts, even though not as much as on the first 8 Series Concept: - Headlights: they definitely aren't as slim as on last year's concept, but they still seem a little bit slimmer than the actual production version judging from the spyshots and the leaked photo. - Front air intakes: are they going to make them so high? 🤔 - Trunklid: maybe the ducktail spoiler won't be as theatrical (don't remember seeing it quite as high on the M8 camouflaged prototypes), but I hope I'm wrong. - Rear bumper: I would really hope they keep it close to the concept, but would they really build a new bumper instead of using the M Sport bumper and simply changing the lower black part, like they seem to have done on the M5? Again I hope I'm wrong as the concept looks savage 😍 Last edited by advantage20; 03-08-2018 at 03:26 PM.. |
