Wrapped Color Opinions

BIMMERPOST

Have ‘23 M8GC in Frozen Pure Gray. Love it, but know over time I’ll want a change.

What are opinions out there on color change that look best on the M8GC?

Satin black is always killer but any other opinions?

I prefer the loud colors myself. I always thought of doing some sort of livery for fun and it would work with the few rally's I go on myself. But it being a sedan I think I would say murdered out would be a good choice.

Quick question are you fully PPF now? That would be a good thing put the wrap over that to keep it protected still from rock chips and junk...

Yes. It’s got a full stealth PPF and ceramic coat.

Thanks for the feedback.

Personally I think this looks awesome as it is - satin or matte black wraps belong on 10 year old range rovers in my opinion.

Doing something like one of the BMW art cars might be fun. Not the ugly Jeff Koons ones, but rather some of the older designs that were actually good looking.

Last time I saw a frozen black BMW I thought it looked like someone had taken a $10 can of black spray paint to it.

Like most cars that colour - hideous to me, but ETTO. Over in the UK you just see loads of old Range Rovers wrapped in matte black, driven exclusively by drug dealers or people who can’t afford to run them.

There’s a frozen black 2024 M8 comp at the local dealer right now. Looks pretty descent to me

Yup. Doesn't work on all cars, but the M8 happens to be one of them where it does.

Yeah, was at the dealer today they said the car sold three days after being listed. Agreed. Looked friggin’ evil.

To me much would depend on what the interior colour is.

Having said that….only one way to go really isn’t there….

Personally the frozen colors don't look good. They are a compromise imo.
I wouldn't like it on any vehicle. Sanded flat paint.....no thanks. It doesn't need a dull finish to look bad ass. I could go on.

HoyaLefty50 Well did you decided on anything or reduce it down to a few?

Haven’t really narrowed down other than thinking murdered out will look killer on this body, despite some objections above.

What do you think about powder coating the wheels in gloss black with the pure gray finish now? Maybe switch to dark badging?

If I change color it’ll be back half of next year.

You should take a picture of Matt's face and bring that to the PPF installer and ask him to PPF just the hood with Matt's face and Matte black background. That would look killer.

If you do like a soft dark gray that would look sick.
