I explained my reasoning; short form: stock form is absurdly high. H&R build a quality product and this is my 3rd set of that exact product. Having racked up >30,000 miles on them, why wait. The car wasn't going to lower itself.
Where ever you live must have better roads the last thing I want is lower...

Nope. Same percentage of shite roads as everywhere else. But the point of this car is very much the way it looks... and it looks wrong in stock suspension form. It's a subjective risk:reward equation that, for me, reward wins out.

I'm sort of baffled by this. BMW owns a test facility at the Nurburgring where they test the M8 C for months to get the suspension set up nice and fast.

And then you let some random guy mod it away? For what purpose? How can you say it's 'better'? Better at what? The Nurburgring? Really? Hmmm.

This is the same as saying why would anybody ever want to change stock wheels. They have been tested on the Nurburgring...

Cars have been modified to fit personal preferences as long as cars have been built.

One is personalization, the other is performance. It is not coincidental that the biggest players in suspensions are German companies.

His name is Ben; he's not some random guy; he has a great and well-deserved reputation... but mostly, what's it to you?

Typically, I like to answer these questions but, for you, I'll make an exception --> but

Quote:
How can you say it's 'better'?
Because it's my car and I get to decide; because I have a mouth; because I've had a lot of BMW M cars and, as a result, I have an opinion on many things... none of which concern you or require your optimistic (that's called sarcasm) point of view.

I don't think that's any of your business.

The Nurburgring?
That's Nürburgring.

Have to admit that I am also too lazy to type Nürburgring. And that's me being a German
The other correct way to write it is Nuerburgring. But then nobody would know what I am talking about...

Paint protection film, dual ceramic coating, tints and perhaps new tires if I suffer traction issues with these P Zeros. Other than that, she's already lowered, has spacers and new paddles.

Currently, she has a both Racechip and JB4 under the hood for comparative testing scenarios a little down the road.

Well I'm just confused. The M8 C is tested for sport to go optimum speed on the Burgerking ring and sport + for Burgerking big prize track [i also know some german ]

You can't just lower the suspension without readjusting the the whole system. All the pitch and camber and caster and all the rest is a system designed to go fast. If you lower the car all the angles change. You could have created an oversteer or under steering mess. Worse the parts might not be designed to bear the loads at certain angles. I saw a modded 3 series front suspension collapse and send him into a wall at a track last year.

That's all I'm saying. Does this guy just put new springs on or does he actually test this stuff?

Fair enough—perhaps you could start with this attitude...

I've taken all (but one--an X5M) of my M-cars to one/the other/both the dragstrip and road courses. I've raced both mod'd (dropped/spacers/new wheels/non OEM tires/tuned/etc.) and stock cars (in before and after scenarios) and no perceivable degradation jumps out at me for turn in, launch traction, lap time, ET, etc.

I'm no exception here... and your question makes me think you're possibly unfamiliar with this massive (after)market. There are tens of 1,000s of folks/enthusiasts/customers like me out there buying 1,000s more aftermarket springs, wheels, spacers, turbos, exhausts, intakes, brakes, etc. from H&R, KW, MSS, Pure Turbo, GruppeM, Dinan, APR, Burger, Racechip, Evolve, etc.

This is a huge market and one in which you pay to play. That price is paid in both $$$ amount and risk. Some vendors offset the risk with warranties--most don't. The risk is *mine*, not the supplier that I asked to source me lowering springs and install them.

That said, Ben offered lots of advice, recommendations and experience... but no guarantees. Again: risk = mine.
