Just curious if anyone knows exactly what is done during this “break in” service. A sales rep told me they take off a type of governor but I also heard it’s just standard service where they change our fluids and such. Wondering if anyone knows exactly what takes place?

Here's mine. It doesn't indicate anything "special" was done:
Engine oil & filter change
Rear differential fluid change
Deactivated service notification

But here is a video that shows how much power was unlocked in an M3 after the 1200 mile "magic" service:

Also, you don’t have to get the service done at 1200, it can be anywhere between 1000 and 1499 miles (just don’t pass 1500).
