In the first article there is mention of:

"We don’t expect to see the facelifted version out before the early months of next year."

Perhaps it's too early to know it exactly until official news follows. But reading different articles on the above, 2022 appears to be the year it will hit the roads.

Future model thread mentions the 8 series being 'upcontented' 3/22, so deliveries next summer would be presumed. Seemed to be more sweeping changes to pricing and such with options becoming standard, and he wasn't seeing a full LCI, but he's missed the mark on occasion. Possible it's something in between and a bit lighter than the more recent LCIs that came across since the 8 has been fairly far ahead on the tech side.

2022 BMW 8-Series Convertible LCI Shows Updated Design, New Infotainment Screen

New spy shots. Nothing big on the outside, biggest reveal was a newer and larger iDrive infotainment display.

I'll be interested in news of an M8 CS especially for the coupe line. Maybe MY 23?

Same here... but I'm thinking they're just expecting us to take our Edition Pit Lane M8 to the Paddock where we then hop into an M4 CSL or M2 CS racing for the track.

Is the hood over the gauge cluster larger, too—could just be a trick of the angle or me needing an immediate appointment with my optometrist.

As in the number below vs on top of the horizontal lines? Looks like that could just be the difference between the eco and comfort/sport gauges in ID7.

Does line change with modes? I wasn't in my car today.

Heh, yeah they're slightly different in my DD so I couldn't yesterday either... it doesn't quite have an "eco mode "

Jumped in the X7 this morning, you'll see they put the speed and gear below the lines in eco vs above in comfort andsport. I'm sure it's just a subtle way they're illustrating the drivetrain being deprioritized for efficiency.

Here's a gallery of the three (yes, I need gas):

The tacho view with the subtle lines can be coded in KOMBI - at least in my M850i. I am personally not a fan of them. It's the standard (m sport) kombi layout thus NON M Performance variant. Car comes standard with the M Performance Variante 160 mph - at least in the M850i until now. I recall there are 5-6 different options for Kombi Layout (Alpina, M, M Performance 160 mph, M Performance 200 mph and M sport). Next time I code I will take a picture.
