Seat comfort question

Hi everyone,
One week into my new 850 gran coupe and I am still playing the butt wiggle game and constantly going up and down like a slow release spring. My M550 had comfort seats it was like driving a rocket propelled arm chair!

How did you all get on? For example found seats hard but softened etc? Do you sit high so you can see the hood or more lower ready to race position?

Cheers
Michael

I hear you, it’s the same for me. Switched from M550 to M850 and everything is better in 8 except the seats. In 5, doing 1000km was withou any problems, very comfy - especially with massage. Doing only 300km in 8 and my back hurts. And no massage option for 8 series (like really?!). I love the car, but hate the seats!

Yeah the manual thigh bolster is a little bit of a letdown too. Love the car tho.

Totally agree, M550i and M5 seats are much more comfortable! Please see thread discussion below regarding 850i / M8 seats.

Thanks guys so not alone. The 850 is less than a week old with only done 400km on it, did you guys find the seats softened a bit?

I have back issues (lower back surgery) and a twisted hip and have suffered feeling sitting on my right sit bone like I’m sitting on a lump in fact my 650 was so bad a dumped it out. Hoping this will soften or my hips adjust 🥺

It's a very different seat than the 5 or 7 series. After over 2 years in the car, you have to adjust to the seats. They don't really "soften" or change how you're looking for.

You're hips will have to adjust or you're going to need to get a m760i. I had one as a loaner and it was super sporty and comfy.

Yer I had a feeling my body shape is going to have to adjust to it rather than other ways round. My wife’s 430 cab was the same but I now find it comfortable after two years. But the M550 with comfort seat pack took driving distance to another world.

Yep hoping after a few months the seat cushion will of taken on a bit of shape and my hips stretched to the new position. Other than that a surgical saw to my hip seat bone 😳🥺

After a few months of ownership I have to agree in that they could and should be softer for me too. I feel them a little rigid and thus not as comfortable as I initially thought or expected. However there may drivers who actually like it this way (just as people who like "harder" bed mattresses) and prefer the harder seating feeling. I guess much also depends on what types of rides you go for. I have to say though bodywise it sits nice and tight in there so for me zero problems even after longer or curvy rides.
I have the seats set very low as I do not see the hood much prefering the lower (racing....) seating position.

I agree, and I'd have to say he's spot on with the bed annology. some like a firm bed, some like it soft. it's definitely personal preference.

Thanks guys, I am probably doing the 850 a huge disservice but with my surgical history I will likely get an ortho cushion so I can enjoy this amazing beast. The seat cushion just has too much rake for my poor old hips, I need something near flat so my tail bone is not pressured. Spine surgery sucks
