let Geneva start, then we can bash it - if it still look like garbage that is.
My guess, this render shows the GC 8 series. And it looks freakin good imo.

I love this brand (I've been driving BMWs for 30+ years), but they've strayed to the luxury side of the sport-luxury continuum and now their styling has become very, very stale imo. I was so hopeful when the 8 series and Z4 concepts were shown. I thought that finally BMW was reversing the boring styling trend. But the production models aren't hopeful. Fans like me are having are harder and harder time not looking at Audi and Merc now. Honestly, if it wasn't for an available 6MT, I don't think I'd be driving a BMW now.

Great news! IMO the 6GC is still the best looking car in the BMW lineup, so I'm glad to see them not abandon that body style with the 8er.

certain to be another gorgeous concept that will be reflected fuck-all in the actual production vehicle.

Don't worry about the 8 Series GC... they will totally fuck up the read-end again... just like with the 8 Series Coupe.
I also somewhat miss the "old days" where BMW Concepts were 99% production models. On the other hand more advanterous and visionary Concepts allow designers to play more with design elements, lines etc. However... I don't see much benefits there when look at latest creations like the X7 or 8 Series rear end. :| |

can't really level blame at the forum though Scott. BMW's recent track record of concepts making it into production is poor. Just look at the 8er for the most recent confirmation of that. And then we can all wait for the new Z for further confirmation.

Yes, people here don't seem to bother at all about BMW designing crazy super modern concepts per se that make us dream by giving us a taste of the distant future but will never convert into an actual production model.
Rather people are furious about BMW teasing us with concept versions that are supposedly 90% close to future production models, but which upon closer inspection turn out to be completely different vehicles with not a single production body panel, with improved proportions, sharper edges, deeper creases, slimmer lights... yet have a very realistic overall shape and give off a close to production vibe. Such as the X2 Concept or the 8 Series Concept. Hence the huge frustration when it turns out that those realistic lines and shapes of the concept, that overall feasibility feel that we've been teased with and that made us so optimistic about the production vehicle, are in fact the only thing that's left from the concept, a vague impression, while every actual aspect and detail has in fact been toned down. Some of you guys are insane. Concept vehicles from every brand have ALWAYS been far off from production models. Concepts are supposed to give you an idea of the future of the brand and a preview of what the vehicle may look like. Production models rarely ever achieve an identical look with their concept counterparts.
HOWEVER, I think BMW particularly have been doing a damn great job bringing their concepts to life. The i8 is a prime example including the i3. The 4 series is also another great example. We haven't even officially seen the 8 series yet. Ya'll are some damn hounds. EVERYONE knows production vehicles will never mirror their concepts. Especially radical and new designs. |

the silhouette of the GC is looking amazing. I'm sure it'll look drop dead gorgeous and make my F06 M6 depreciate to the value of a bus ticket in a year.
