Crystal idrive controller

For those who has replaced with crystal idrive controller have some questions.
The plastic clear ring is used again or not?
With crystal the arrows are still illuminated after?
Thanks

Purchasing this today as well and would like to know if coding is required. Does this need to be done at the dealer?

If I tried that, every time I heard that loud click, I'd have to check my heart to make sure it still was beating.

No coding needed.
I did it on my G05 X5 few weeks ago.
You need to use the new supplied ring.

Just don't pull off the controller board off, work with it on.
I use heatgun to warm up the old sticker a little so it comes off easily.

Oh, I remove the whole center console off the car.
Better to work on a bench.

Is there a video or something that explain how to remove the center console? Thanks
