I've no idea what that feature is? Are you referring to the camera in the gauge cluster that monitors your face for signs of fatigue?

I don't have it on my M8, but on my X7 it certainly works. It's hard to say how/if it's working from a fatigue standpoint since lane movement also has an effect, but when operating when conditions let me change the mode to "Assisted Driving Plus" which has the ETJA, it certainly pays attention to whether my eyes are looking at the road.

I have extended traffic jam assist—it's kicked in numerous times. As far as I know, the eye sensor is used to monitor fatigue and attention. Is that what you're (OP) asking about?

Yep it’s also supposed to allow for hands free driving while in adaptive cruise mode, but not sure if that’s a country specific feature?

It works here in the US. But it's far from hands free and requires frequent driver input to convince it you're still there/awake. Given how kludgy it is, I wholeheartedly agree with that aspect.

It's less invasive for the enhanced auto-driving at lower speeds—noticeably so. But it's an every-20-seconds experience for highway speeds. I find my knee works well.

There is decent demonstrative video of it in action here, moving back and forth between assisted driving and assisted driving plus a few times:

When the car is in assisted driving plus mode (traveling below 40mph on a highway, where the ETJA kicks in and you have to select the additional mode), I've been completely hands free for 30+ min in heavy traffic, it does a decent job of staying in the lines plus tracking the vehicle in front of you. It does notice even if I keep my head straight and glance down at my phone for more than 1 second or so.

Rgsport was able to code the safety features off for me; so I can use it on any road at any speed without looking or touching.

it works amazingly well. but you need to code it for full 100% hands free.

I'm surprised such a sensitive setting is surfaced through coding. What does it do now--always engages the "plus" mode which you turn driving assistant on?

Yep, been coded and working since June 2019.

Every time I hit "autopilot"; it fully engages and fully 100% hands free traffic jam extended expert mode all time.

Adding another one to my coding list when I ever get around to it. I've never gotten the 40MPH or lower prompt for full assistance with only the camera vs hands on the wheel as I'm never stuck in stop and go traffic. I have no issues with the hands on the wheel at 85 MPH on the freeway as I still will do the lane changing even in full assist as often the lane change assistant is too aggressive at that speed. On the trip to San Diego last year I was adamant on having the car "drive itself" and it did a great job until the lane change assistant woke my sleeping wife up in the passenger seat.

I need to move to AZ! Come to DC; constantly random stop and go traffic for no reason at random places or stop lights everywhere.

I will admit that the "auto" lane change is slightly more aggressive than I would do normally. At average speeds around 40-50 mph it's not too bad but definitely quicker and sharper than most casual drivers. I've never tried it above 80 mph; but based on my experience from 20 to 40 to 55; I can imagine that it's more "aggressive" at higher speeds. I'll wager your 85+ change is probably 2x as harsh as the auto changes at 40 mph.
I will say that in traffic, the auto change does a good job of avoiding traffic and automatically waiting for the next opportunity before switching lanes.

Definitely something I think everyone should get coded from a driver view. From a BMW liability, I can clearly see why they don't want it coded. But it's probably good enough to use all the time.
