So the C63 beat the M3 in a R&T comparo...(M)

based on mainly on superior low end power. I wonder who how a Dinaned-out 335 (brakes, suspension, chip, intercooler) would've fared in that test.

I know Dinan is overpriced, etc, etc but you are warrantied so that would be a somewhat fair comparison to stock cars.

Was a very fair and honest comparo imo. The cars were only separated by a fraction of a point (and each scored approx 196 points to put that in perspective). I'd take a C63 over an M3, but hey, that's just me.

I'm looking at getting a C63 in the next few days. Having driven both, I can see why both cars were within a point of each other. I was suprised how close the M3 felt acceleration wise to the C63. I didn't think the M3 would pull as hard as it did. The M3 feels more planted cornering, but the C63 is alot closer to it than the C32/55 were to the old E46 M3. The exhaust, seats and new Command/Nav system in the C63 are pretty amazing also.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed when I saw it too. I thought it would be M3 then C63 then isF then rs4. Ive only driven the F out of the four, and it felt amazing.

I prefer the M3 personally, but here in Canada there is, literally, a 15K+ difference in price (you can get a C63 otd for 70k, M3s are all over 85k otd). For that kind of money I'd almost definitely take the C63.

M3 vs. C63 on Topgear

I'd still take the M3 over the C63

I'd rather have the C63 than the M3.

C63 is definately faster than an M3 in a straight line. They are both very different cars and have their pros/cons....

What kind of bimmer loyalist are you?

That said, I'd probably get a C63 as well. The car will be plenty of fun for city driving. I will just go up to people and say 300 hp is fast, 400 will take your breath away, thats why I have 451hp.

I think everyone is missing the main difference, c63 is automatic ONLY.
That car is dead to me, i wouldn't take it for FREE

If i wanted a fast straight line automatic, I would just get an SRT-8-whatever and for 2 grand a couple of redneck mechanics would make me a 600RWHP rocket.

So, no thanks to c63

M3. Just wish we could get a CSL that weighed under 3k. Dream on. Or wait for the Z2. But then I would rather drive a Lotus than a tank.

If you want a C63 why not get a 'vette?

Some say he once pushed a little old lady down the stairs to the tube in Piccadilly Circus.

I find myself strangely attracted to the C63 as well despite all the published nods to the M3 dynamically and aesthetically and my general dislike/distrust of the 3-pointed star brand.
