Kinda like this thing

I saw this on the Bay.

Thought...aan..I dunno.. Will it look stupid?
Well I gotta say that I actually like it better than all the gloss black.
Its actually carbon fiber. Very well cut too. It's only semi real but it's pretty decent for the money. Awesome sticky stuff on the back.
Fast shipping too. Sorry for the schill talk.
Just thought someone else might want one too. I have a lot of real carbon stuff and it goes well. Actually not a bad match for the BMW carbon interior bits.
Better quality than I was expecting. Fit perfect. I didn't use the smaller piece included. Didn't like it as well.

I thought it might look cheesy or like Chinese junk. My lady agreed it looked better than the ugly gloss black. They sell a lot of interior small bit carbon trim pieces for our cars. You can practically make all the silver disappear if it suits a person. I personally like most of the silver aluminum stuff. Hated the silver wheel though.

Personal opinion………tacky!

You will get what you pay for……..’soft carbon fibre’? Not sure what that is.

Anyway, I prefer everything stock so don’t listen to me!

I understand the criticism. I get that. But for me the choice between this carbon thing and gloss black makes it much easier to look at. We have WAY too much gloss black for my liking. The less gloss black the better for me.
so after having this on a few weeks now I still like it.
I like the interior carbon stuff. And I also enjoy not paying stupid prices for this stuff. When possible. And they still good for the money.
Yes it is soft carbon but it really is made nicely. The carbon has a nice glint to it on different angles. cover in a clear coat give is a deep look in person.
so now I ordered and received these items as well. The first one for the trunk release switch is hard carbon and completely what we all expect. Actually it's very nice.
The second link is for the seat controls are. I have looked for the bottoms in carbon and can get it. but it nuts money. It's much bigger but also much more cost and almost too much carbon. so these will satisfy that itch.
Not installed yet as it's been too cold here for that the last few days.
They have other stuff for the interior as well. Actually nice quality for the money. Better than expected honestly.

IMO the gloss black looks way worse. That screen has a lot of area that's gloss black. Yack. It's quite nicely made. Much better in person, yes.

Agreed as cellphone cameras and lighting conditions often never deliver true color/contrast. Even in M8Bimmer's two pictures shared the one on the top looks great vs the one on the bottom which is iffy.

That aside what I can't get past is the dash cover looking like something in a felt of sorts. Why cover up the beautiful Merino leather dash? I get it that sunlight/heat on the dash can cause issues with leather degradation and ultimately splitting. But I live in the land of relentless sun/heat and just some leather protection (Gtechniq for me) and it's not even a factor.

Now for the joke (and I'm specifically calling it as such) it reminds me of all the old folks that cover their couches in plastic. 😜

No offence taken.....lol
I'm actually in my early 60's so my couch only has saran wrap on it so far.
Your actually quite correct. When it was not mounted yet it had a nice look to it as you moved it. A qlint sorta thing. It is REAL carbon in there. And cut perfectly as well. The red sticky stuff was applied perfectly as well. I'm sure anyone else but the most savvy car guy will not know it's not a actual plastic interior part. I have plenty of those and for a fraction of the price of those, this works for me.
Look at the price of these things. Seems a bit stupid for where this is. These are I assume hard carbon mould into that shape.
Anybody seen these?

I'm 57 and now dealing with a new $20K leather couch in the home theater that is more supple leather than even Merino. Let the wife pick out the color and associated grade 7 leather as somewhat clueless on my part. But after a few months even my laptop tray (work off the couch half the time) has scratched the leather. Fighting off the seran wrap and just bought a felt lined bottom laptop tray plus some Mequires to buff out the scratches. That said the wife still gives me a hard time over it and my answer is "I'll go full nuclear with plastic covering". 😜

I don't want to scratch up the leather. I was thinking you need a velvet jumpsuit.

no..........just no. That looks like something boy racers would put in their fiestas. This is the opposite of lipstick on a pig.

But like it was said earlier each to their own.
