H&R Lowering Springs Feedback?

Does anyone here have with H&R lowering springs? If so I’m curious on your feedback.
How long have you had them?
Stiffer spring rate?
How’s the ride quality?
I’ve heard that in general lowering springs shorten the life of shocks/premature shock failure?
Would it be okay to occasionally track my M850i with lowering springs?

Thank you.

Great question.

In a previous life I used to lower all my cars
and now my 2 older sons have lowered their
cars, giving me the bug to lower again. I
wasn't going to touch the M8 but seeing all
the modded cars here, I cant resist. Any info
would be great.

I think limeypride had the H&R sport springs and KW adjustable springs on his M8’s and the KW’s seem to be the winner on comfort and of course the ability to fine tune the ride height.

A few bucks more but worth every penny IMO

I installed the H & R springs after 6 track days and was a great improvement, especially at VIR, in the high speed up hill esses.
The drop was around 1.3 ". Ride on street a little stiffer, but not a big deal in Virginia, by DC. Turn in is much more responsive with springs.

Have done 20 track days and have 19,000 miles. On third set rear brakes, second front, but one more weekend, and they're shot. Track with everything off, but more wear on rear.
Still looking for better pad. Got spoiled with my E92 M3 and PFC 01/11 pads.
Steering rack went bad in October at VIR. Lane interruption comes on, even when off. Getting replaced now.

Have done 4 oil changes, all on NA.

Would welcome thoughts on tires. Pirellis lasted 6 track days, terrible in the rain, but PERFECT on wet skid pad at Summit Point.
Running TOYO R888 on track, very noisy when new, but wear pretty good so far.

M8 is an amazing BMW!!

Did you ever experience floati'ness in steering feel at high speed—a wandering sensation like the front wheels were lifting? High speed==120mph+ (on approved and legal roads, of course).

Steering feel

No Floating. Steering in lowest setting or next higher on track seemed to work best.
Back straight at VIR is 150-155, and no steering issues, just talking with God
