Front rim bent...

Hi Gang,

My front passenger side rim is bent and my tire shop said the bend is around the hub and not the outer part of the rim...so it can't be straightened.

odd part is the car drives perfectly straight and i dont really hear any weird noises...

anyways, does anyone know the part number for a stock black front passenger side rim on a 2022 bmw m850 gran coupe?

Does it shake? It should be out of balance really?
You should really be able to feel a bent rim.

it did...i hit a massive pothole that both front rims hit...

front driver side tire bubbled from the impact. passenger side bubbled just slightly so I need two new front tires...they checked the rims for being bent when they did the tires and said the drivers side bend was fixable and fixed it, but the passenger side was bent in a spot that was not fixable.

so now i have two new tires and one still bent rim...he also said my alignment would need to be done once I get the new rim, but again, the car steers perfect...so i am not sure what to do at this point...lol

he said both tires balanced perfect with the new tires...

Agreed, if not, I'm wondering why it wasn't even brought in, visibly bent somehow?

Anyway, assuming you're looking for the front 728M in jet black, part number is 36118097240.

ah okay. I mean, sure, I guess they could balance if bent just right, but integrity would be of a concern, don't want to go finding out what happens as you're going into a corner at 90+

Oh ok...that explains lots then. Yes you need a new rim. Maybe 2 honestly. Depending how big the budget is. I'd replace both fronts if your able. Then you will have a decent spare if needed.
That must have been one hell of a hole/crater !
What about insurance?
Glad your ok.
Yes alignment time too.

find out if your city can reimburse you for the damage. Hit a pothole in San Diego and as long as you give them all the evidence and are compelling, they will write you a check for the damages.

no, front and rear wheels are different widths (rear is an inch wider).

ArabianOak that must have been a heck of a pothole to involve both front wheels. Sounds more like a chasm.

I hit a 3" frost heave across a highway at 70+mph with my F80 about 1 month after I got it a few years ago. I managed to bend all 4 (the hit was hard enough to throw up the armrest and down my visors). I was surprised I didn't blow out a tire in the process.

3' and my car would have been totaled...

[EDIT], ah... you mean 3' wide... no, it was about 30' wide (across the entire 2 lane highway+ shoulders), the heave was 3" high.
