2022 M8 Coupe Carbon Seats not listed anymore?

It seems the Carbon seats similar to the m3/m4 optional seats are no longer listed under the build options? I have a march production and was thinking of adding them after trying them and thinking they arent as bad as everyone said. Does anyone know if they discontinued them for the m8 or is it just a web issue, had to leave a vm for the dealer of course?

If must be those carbon fiber chips! That is kind of odd though.

So, you have a March production on a 22? I thought SOP of the 23's was in March.

My understanding was it would be a 2022 but to be honest it never occurred to me that it could be a 23 that early so I didnt ask the question.

I know, seems earlish, but that's what is listed here. It's still kind of a mystery though. No allocations out for that yet. I'm on lists at a few places.

https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686

G14/G15/G16 8er and F91/F92/F93 M8
In production until 10/25 (G15, F91, F92, F93) and 06/26 (G14 and G16)
Will be upcontented in 03/22, with a bunch of things that are currently extra cost options becoming standard. This will include making M Sport standard on all 840i and 840d models and some new wheels. M850i will gain a new "M Performance" option so there will still be something to distinguish it from the lower models. This is possibly the closest to an LCI these cars will get.

Not sure, does upcontented mean a new model year? Im new to the 8's, had all m4's and they offered me $5k over the buyout for my m4cs but I dont like the new 4 and cant get an m2cs so decided to try the 8.

Well, that's a good question I suppose. I assumed it meant new year and actual deliveries would start in may-ish. It seems like it would be odd to add stuff 10 months into a model year.

I'm in the same boat as you. Several M4's and then with both the market for selling mine and the price drop on the M8's I'm in the market for one.

Put down deposit yesterday on a 22 M8 GC. GM said that it will start production in February. That makes it a 22 right?
Whats LCI?

Lci is life cycle impulse, usually just minor updates pr additions to bump sales mid life cycle of a car.

Means that the 2023 (that will get released around march 2022) will have some minir changes usually the bumpers and headlights and also the interior (will get the 12m5 inch screen from the current M5)
If i were you and you are not in a hurry will get the 2023 instead especially if u are planning to sell the car later

I've heard yes, but it's really all mostly conjecture at this point it seems.

Dealer agent I am working with is telling me that 23s will not be deliverable by them until late 23. He said they won't have an allocation until then. That could be dealerspeak for you need to buy now.
I only put down $1000 and it is refundable. If a 23 becomes available and the price happens to go up some I could decline the 22 and go with the 23.
They do not seem to have trouble selling these here in Kona. They just dont stock any of them.

That doesn't make any sense though. He is saying that the 23's won't be available until the end of 2023, at which point 24's should be available I'd think? I'd be ok with a 22, but at least want to wait for whatever improvements are supposed to come in March. I'd hate to order one a month before and kick myself because I didn't wait just a little longer. I inquired over on the future model thread to see if he knows.

There is this article which seems to have some pics of an updated interior. Does the shape of the iDrive screen seem more squared off vs being trapezoidal, perhaps to allow for a larger screen?

Thanks for the replies. It will be interesting to see where this leads.
I am wondering why I am paying $16000 over the price of the M5. I guess the 8 does have better lines in my opinion.

LOL. Although the chip supply issue is the largest culprit these days impacting a lot of technology and obviously the automobile industry which is dependent on that there is indeed an overall global supply chain issue. So my guess is that may be the impact on the carbon fiber seats or it ties back to another thread on the forum in which a UK member was not guaranteed electric seats which may tie back to the chip shortage for the "memory function".

G14/G15/G16 8er and F91/F92/F93 M8
In production until 10/25 (G15, F91, F92, F93) and 06/26 (G14 and G16)
Will be upcontented in 03/22, with a bunch of things that are currently extra cost options becoming standard. Interesting on the 2023 new "M Performance" option for the M850i. It still is my go to for bang for the buck in the cost/performance factor. Don't get me wrong, i.e., I'd love a M8C coupe but just can't value the increased cost for my daily driver over the M850i. Right now given all of the uncertainty with the 2023s driving the lack of options on the 2022s right now, e.g., no B&W audio my plan is to buy out my 2020 lease this December and keep the M850i for at least another year while it's under full warranty. If and when orders open up with on the 2023s with all options available I'll just go that route and do a trade-in on the 2022.

So check out the 2 posts in response to my question about March production starting at post #1135. Both seem to say that it should go with the next model year.

For what it's worth.
Here in Ontario Canada I ordered mine Jan 27th 2021. Was delivered here in Early April 2021.
It was a 2022 model that showed up.
