I've never bought a Porsche before as honestly never had interest. The main guy I dealt with that got me my M8GC allocation moved to a Porsche dealer after Autonation ruined the BMW dealership he was at. I secured a Taycan Turbo S for my wife and while there the GSM pretty much realized I was an enthusiast rather than a status type buyer. I sat in a 911 and surprisingly fit(I'm 6'5" all torso) and then realized it had somewhat of a rear seat which is good enough for my kids. After doing my research I was impressed with what the 911 Turbo S could do. No dealer around had a list less than a year wait for one and he knew I found an allocation in Cali for a Turbo S Cab and secured it back in first week of December. He then called me up 3 days ago and let me know he wanted to see if I wanted a Turbo S Coupe for April delivery and that he had a customer that wanted to do a delayed European delivery and could maybe get me that allocation instead and be able to get the Coupe vs Cab which holds better value and not have to deal with shipping a car from Cali to Texas. I was all in on that idea and frankly the $25k ADM was justified knowing what he could've gotten instead with someone else and the fact that he had 17 folks on the list waiting and let me get the spot had major kudos value aswell since I'm not a patient person. Being in sales for myself I can truly appreciate when a value in a person is appreciated and able to secure a deal through the means of knowing who the right customer is and future growth potential. |

Shit every Porsche 911 right now is next to impossible to get. A Base 911 gets adm in most areas. There just aren't nearly enough around to satisfy demand. I could have gotten a Turbo S with a Jan build but thought I was sold on the GTS. After building it and seeing it I was unsatisfied and asked him to find me a Turbo S and got a May production. EDIT - I had a Jan Build Slot for a 911 GTS or a Turbo S for Jan. I decided to take the 911 GTS build slot but after building it in numerous ways I decided I wanted a Turbo S. He got new allocations Dec 23 so I took the May Turbo S Allocation and gave him back the 911 GTS allocation as he has 10 deep waiting for one

For some reason I am never satisfied and most exotic brands just don't appeal to me. A Koenigsegg Gemera is the only thing I find appealing, but that's next level shit and I'd have to sell 6 of my toys to just touch one and it's a hard trade. Truly an amazing car though. |

Yeah exactly, you have to do a bit of research to understand the better deal. Same with say private sale V trade in, sometimes the savings in Taxes is enough to make it worth it. I think he said his loaded F250 was around 80k but he hauls horses and needs a nice truck.

Thanks all for replies!
Here is the summary of the market: 1. Allocations are available but being not very popular car you have to work to find one. 2. You have to order hoping some options will be available at your build time such as neck warmers, B&W stereo, wireless charger... 3. And after that you need to find knowledgeable and responsive SA capable to work on custom order. Here is picture from visualizer what I ordered: |

I'll go as far as saying the X6M and M8 are 2 of the hardest allocations to get due to demand. |

Another thing I was surprised to hear many dealers do business now only in their 2-3 adjacent states and politely refuse to discuss ordering car far away from the dealership. |

X6, same thing....almost no reason to get that car over an X5 since the rear space is so little compared to the X5. Right now, everything is selling because nothing is available...it's not because there has been this sudden revelation that it's a great car.

cars.com shows 40 2022 M8 convertibles (i was watching convertibles only). Some of them are presold but many available - I spoke to some listing dealers but didn't like the colors or options and ended up ordering one.

Yes even my order from back in Sept still shows up on the internet page for the dealer. One cannot really trust the internet for whats actually on lot or on the way anymore. lol

I mean it has a larger screen.....which makes (for me, at least) the touchscreen usable. I had the smaller 10.2 in my 2019 M5 and rarely used touch-screen but use it all the time in our X7 and X5M because it makes a difference. I don't know why they didn't put the 12.3 monitor in the 8 series considering they did it in the X5 and X7 and those also were 2019 releases (and the layout of the 8 series didn't factor in because the LCI will have that same 12.3 monitor).
