Thanks bloozemanAZ its a great article. I love AWD in my 850, it is probably the single biggest differentiator when I compare to my old 640 (apart from the engine of course).
Are you thinking of going smaller? New M3 also getting great reviews. The refreshed 8 is taking a long time to arrive, and assuming it is announced 1H 2022, I would be lucky to get one until 2023. So I'm thinking about what's next. |

I have had two G80's now and that says alot; my latest is the X drive and I can say with no doubt that it drives incredibly well from steering, to dampening, to chassis reflex. While the review above was about the G82- I like the G80 lines more.
xmanpro can probably chime in too as he has both the 8 and the 3 in M variants. I dont care if, out of the box, its not as fast as the F9X variants as a simple piggy has the car in the 10's and there are now cars in the 9's (I just do a piggy) . But the car is just frankly- more fun and I have had the F90 and have the F93 M8 now so this is not some owner bias bull shit.

I concur Vic55 . The driving dynamics of this car puts a smile on my face every single time I use it. Truly feels like a real BMW. Probably my fav M car thus far.

Just keeping my options open for when my lease expires this December. Right now the plan is to buy it out if I'm unable to place an order on a 2023 in the May/June timeframe with the options I want and any sort of guarantee it will arrive by November/December. If need be I'll buy out the lease (looking at finance options with right now that being about 3.5% from my credit union vs paying cash) on the 2020 and keep it for a year longer. I'll gladly pay the interest to do so while things shake out and just use it as a trade-in for whatever the next car becomes. I prefer the luxury of the 8-series over a 4-series so fingers crossed on a 2023 or 2024. |
