Ordered a 23 M850I - status 47, so no allocation yet. Timeline they gave me is Oct-Dec to have the car delivered.

I was in order bank hell…finally gave up on my local dealer and found one on the other side of the country with an allocation. I'm much happier now.

The Oct-Dec time works well for me, so if that's the actual case I'm good. How long did you stay in the order bank?

This is Advantage BMW Houston BTW.

Hi all,

First post in this forum! I'm on the 911 Turbo S wait list but I'm considering M8 Competition Coupe as a fun project car that might be available sooner. I visited a local dealership in WA state for a test drive today and put an order in; I'm second on the wait list but they haven't had any allocations this year for the 2023 M8 Competition Coupe yet..

Any advice on approaching other dealerships in US that might have build allocation slots available for 23 M8 CC or is this just a waiting game at this point?

Thanks!

I was in the order bank for 4 months before pulling the plug. I'm in Salt Lake, you may have better luck in Houston. I hope you do.

I think it's a matter of shopping around and being lucky. I'm moving from a 911 GTS and didn't want to wait 12 - 18 months for the privilege of paying a $25k ADM on a new 911. So I ordered an M8C vert two weeks ago. My dealer in South Florida had at least six M8 allocations and I scored one that went into production a week after I ordered it. Pure dumb luck. If you're interested, message me and I'll give you the name of my CA. They may have a GC allocation available as well.

Thanks, hinckley. I contacted a dozen or so dealerships, both on the west coast and in Florida and finally found a dealer in CA that had an allocation at MSRP; just got my production number today!

Excellent! Congrats. Is there a leisurely drive up the coast in your future?

If everything goes well, then yes! I've always wanted to do a road trip on the pacific highway, so this would be a great opportunity

Any chance you'd share the name of your dealer and CA with me? And are you paying MSRP for yours? My local dealer in Jersey that I have dealt with for years after buying many M cars told me today that the wait is 6-7 months for a 23 M8 Gran Coupe. And there's a chance I may have to pay over sticker too...

Sure, feel free to send me a message. This is MSRP; I put in the deposit today and got the production number right away. Some of the dealers wanted 10k ADM on top of MSRP for a 23 M8 allocation and I wasn't comfortable with that.. One of the main reasons I'm going for the M8 was related to (hopefully) better availability and zero ADM. BTW, I don't have a history with this dealership, I was just cold calling a lot of dealers and perhaps got lucky.

For reference, I was quoted 20k ADM for the 911 GTS, 30k for 911 Turbo S and 50k ADM for 911 GT3, all with vague 12-18 month estimates.

I don't have a good handle on the wait time for the M8: my status on the garage app is "Your order has been received, and we're making space in the production schedule", which seems reasonable given that I got the production number today. To me, it seems like this would be an improvement over other dealers that said that they did put the order in but are waiting for allocations and were not able to provide a production number.. If someone here has better knowledge, I'd be happy to learn more.

Sorry MD_F90, my bad, I totally misread the quote on your post! I got distracted and thought it was meant for me.

Would you mind letting me know where you found an allocation? I've been trying to find a dealer at MSRP

Gents, I can't message you because, I think, you're both new to the forum. I bought in West Palm. See this post. I'm sure you'll be able to connect the dots.

Gotcha, thanks!

Debating between a build or just snatching up a 2022 M8 Comp, wouldn't know how much to expect off from MSRP on a 2022 model that's been sitting.

I'm not sure that anyone's reporting back with any discounts from MSRP on any model. Of course, we'd all love it if you succeeded!

I paid MSRP for my 22. I see some dealers charging Dealer Markups on used vehicles so my thought is MSRP is the good deal right now, sadly.

Yeah my thinking is that if I'm paying MSRP for a 2022 that's going to be a year old in 6 months, I'll just order a 23. Which I'm doing today

Yeah from the dealers I spoke with all of them are (at best) selling 2022 M8s for Sticker without ADM

Thanks a lot! My dealer just got back to me and they're charging $10k over sticker and they have no idea how long it'll take

No worries seakraken, your input helps me as well! Unfortunately, I can't PM you since I'm new to the forum and need to make a certain number of posts before I get that privilege. Any other way you can share your dealer with me? I just won't allow myself to pay $10k ADM at my local dealer. Thanks
