Alpina B8 - Better Than A BMW M8? Track Review [Carfection]

Quote:
The Alpina B8 is the latest in a long line of cars built by tuner-come-manufacturer Alpina. It's an alternative to the BMW M8, a car it has more than a little in common with. Rich Duisberg takes a look back at their history and take their latest creation for a spin.

Short answer without even watching the video: Hell yes!

Elegant looks, every bit as quick, better ride quality, far more exclusive, much higher top speed.

Those that know, know!

That b8 is a great car! It's got a different purpose and intention vs the M8. I think it should be compared to the m850 instead.

B IN B8 stands for "Boring 8 series".

Is super sleeper was the goal, well done Alpina.

The Autozone Hub style wheels on Alpinas are a sticker lovers delight.

Says the guy who's into Fiat mopars.. lol

Did yours come with a poorly drawn tribal tat and a free bucket of whey protein?

And you're right man, those Alpina wheels look weak as hell. Definitely need to step it up to Dodge levels of elegance and class.

Lol. Only Tats in the form of L's to cars that think they're fast. Believe me I wanted to like the B8, but after seeing one in a show room I truly thought it was an 840i.

My favorite Dodge wheels were factory forged "brass monkey" rims on my first Hellcat Charger which saw 204mph 2 times.....

B7>B8..... just saying.

Is that Avus blue on the B8? Love the old school 8 series, and the Blue/ silver wheels combo

If Alpina would do a coupe version of the B8 I'd definitely be interested. Although the styling of the GC has grown on me over time I'd still take a coupe any day of the week but that's just down to where I'm at these days, i.e., in the past I had 4-doors but now prefer 2.

The Alpina wheels are only cool because they are bespoke to the Alpina look they have always used.
As far as them being great looking wheels.......wah wah.
Not imo anyway.
I know if you have a Alpina you gotta have the wheels or your some kind of traitor.
But there are hundreds of better looking wheels out there than those things.
I know it's like if you have a Rolls you gotta have the Lady of Ecstasy on the grill top. You can't just go with a Batman figurine or something.
It's kind of like if you buy an Alpina you're stuck with Alpina wheels. No thanks.

Remember one thing - where there is an M, Alpina looks miserable. It'll be this way forever.
B7 - not bad, and then only because there is no M :-)
