Velos Designwerks|Directional D5 2 PC Monoblock wheels| SLS 63 AMG

Dear members,

Recently Velos Designwerks and Five Nine Design teamed up on a small project involving one of our all time favorites the majestic Mercedes Benz SLS 63 AMG. This example of the German thoroughbred is featuring Velos D5 two piece monoblock wheels in the following sizes and specs:

-20x10 Front
-21x12 Rear
-Hidden hardware option
-Hand brushed with matte clear finish

(D5s are true directional wheels)

-Pirelli tires
-H&R springs

Enjoy,

Can't stand the car, so don't mind that the wheels are not my taste either.

Am I missing the irony in a two-piece "monoblock"?

Many companies don't think before they advertise.

The rears are 21's. Maybe they're a two piece tire too.

Hey guys, I completely agree with the term 2pc monoblock not being entirely correct, however it is a term that has been accepted in the industry to describe a two piece wheel in this variation, not to be confused with a "traditional" two piece in which the barrel was a complete unit and the face was bolted to it. In this new configuration the face of the wheel more closely resembles a "monoblock wheel" and utilizes a traditional inner barrel to compensate for a wider range of fitments otherwise unrealizable to true monoblocks.

Hey Kenny, really appreciate the response.

How is the assembly different here to qualify it as something other than a traditional two piece? Because what you wrote sounds awfully similar to a traditional two piece.
