Sierra Cosworth

Hey guys,

Thought id show you guys a car that not many of you see over your side of the world..

Il be trying to bring it over with me when I move over soon.

Obviously its nothing like a M3 etc comfort wise it is almost 30 years old but is an awesome machine with super car besting performance.

The car has been built up from a bare shell every nut and bolt new, has upgraded components to make it more modern ie coilovers, digital dash etc

That wing is wild. Looks like a ton of fun. Do you have numbers; HP/TQ, 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc?

Yh they are such an easy car to love.. I think the concept behind it does it, was a average work mans super car. Only problem is insurance back in the 80s early 90s these cars had a expectancy of 3 days before being stolen.

Excellent looking car, looks superb.

The Cossie has always been a bit of a classic.

However, as you said exceptionally 'nickable'

Is that a genuine RS500 next to it?

The US had that car here in the mid 1980's, it was called the Merkur XR4Ti.

Yeah, my bad. Didn't look closely enough. Aussie cars are not my expertise. Looks real close the XR4Ti we had in the states. I remember seeing an XR4Ti raced at Summit Point in the early '90s. It had a double wing on the back, sounded cool down the front straight. The Turbo Lima 2.3 is no match to the motor in the OP's car. LOL

I must admit I prefer the Escort Cossie to the Sierra.

That is a fun car to bomb around in.

Escort cossie is smaller, but being 4x4 is pretty good at putting power down. Mines 100% standard and never gets drivenas its more of a collection peice. Im not a huge fan of it, i much prefer the saphire or the sierra

Wow, hold on to that RS500. How many miles on it? Those things will be worth a fortune in the next decade or so, lowish mileage ones are cresting over $100k USD.

The Rs500 has just over 40,000 miles so not ultra low mileage but low for its age. Yhep they will keep going up in value now, sure one sold for close to £90,000 which is around 13-140k usd?
