Looks like I posted a pic of the V SPORT interior instead of just a V. Here's the V, looks a little better.

Holy huge picture batman.

That's substantially better. Still wish they would stop putting bling in the cabin.

Completely unacceptable interior for a car priced at $84K. That shifter looks like it was lifted from an '06 Pontiac, because it probably was.

Where do you see bling?

Not any less acceptable than any other car priced even beyond 84K.

That's not counting the high gloss CF and high gloss black trim in there, that's ok.

And then there's the buttons. There's 18 buttons on the steering wheel alone. EIGHTEEN.

Then we look at the doors. There's a button for unlock, and then another one for lock.
The window lock button is 4 times bigger than it needs to be.

I can't even figure out what the 4 buttons are on the door by the mirrors. They certainly aren't for mirror control, that's on the door arm rest above the window buttons.

Shall we look at the console display? How big does the volume button need to be? Then all the individual function buttons for the rest of it. Shouldn't that all be housed in the touch screen interface?

The parking brake is backlit in blue, rather than the white like the rest of it. Also placed oddly, lower left of the steering wheel, rather than over with the drivetrain controls and gear selector on the console.

Then there's the light/indicator and wiper sticks that look like they were transplanted straight from a 1993 Ford Taurus.

These prices are insane. I guess when you're giving eight year notes now, they become "affordable" to more people.

That's the memory seat control.

The volume control is done by sliding your finger or just pressing on the arrows.

So you can complain now that HVAC control is done by the touchscreen and not knobs and buttons like they should be?

Sounds like you're trying to find reasons to hate on the CTS-V in order to defend BMW. That level of nitpicking is like James May taking measuring tape to the M3, RS4, and C63 interior to find something that is trivially better in the RS4 over the other two. " The CTS-V's steering wheel is 2" in diameter! It sucks! It should be 2.5" like the BMW!!!".

Heard the pricing today and was sorta shocked also. Just like the first CTS-V you really are just paying for the motor. Unless the interior upgrade is drastic like the Z06 to the prior years, I won't be picking one up. The gauge cluster is nice but we are in 2015...whats up with that shift lever. Just my 0.02

The memory seat control should be on the seat.

And the steering wheel should be 2.5"

Clearly.

What a sad "enthusiast" forum this has become. Arguing about how pretty your interiors are :/

This car is about actually driving. It's far lighter than any of the Germans.

2016 CTS-V: 4,145 lbs.
2015 M5: 4,354 lbs. (4,387 auto)
2015 M6 Sedan: 4,430 lbs.
2015 E63 AMG: 4,387 lbs.
2015 E63 AMG S : 4,431 lbs.
2015 RS7: 4,475 lbs.

Has way more power than any of them, and now far cheaper than any of them.

With a legit top-notch chassis to back up those numbers.

While I like the ATS-V, the new CTS-V is much more impressive compared to its competition.

I count 8 buttons and two switches... On one of the BMWs I count 10 buttons and 2 switches...

4 buttons on the door are the seat memory, conveniently placed IMO; not on the seat where you can't see them and need to know braille to use them, or have to open the door to get to them like my Z4.

All BMWs used to have the window buttons on the console (which I liked) and now the window buttons are on the door, so was that bad placement when they were on the console?

And who the hell would buy a car with a pushbutton parking brake control, who?! Especially when it's on the left side of the steering wheel where traditionally parking brake pedals and pedal releases are located. OMG!
