I am watching this thread. I have the Racechip and I really want more, especially up top.
Want to know if a flash tune on 93 octane is any better than the Racechip assuming the same physical mods (inlet, intake, and secondary downpipes)

Currently, my best traps are 133mph to 134mph on Dragy (horrible traction on the Pirelli tires). Would like to see some 135/136mph

Bottom line flash tunes are always better for getting more performance where you want it. Best method is flash that is tuned by dyno that way you can measure many variables and bring it back in where needed and push when you can.

I don't have experience with the M8 for the OP, but remember piggy backs are just faking data so the car self adjust. Where as a proper tune the tuner controls a range of adjustments to make sure the whole engine/drive train mapping is done properly. BM3 are well known for doing great work on the BMW range.

BM3 ots times I have seen on this site are slower than my Racechip times so I will pass.
I am guessing someone like Utku or something could do better. Time to do the xHP tune and see if I get more in the meantime

You'll have that for sure, much of that can be accounted for location as well.... That's when things get nutz while comparing. Nothing beats dyno tunes to bring the car out to what your desire truly is. Heck on dragy I seen a guy running downpipe and intake no tune hit 10.27 quarter at 138mph....

I will take a 10.27@138mph over a dyno tune that says 750rwhp on 93 octane but traps at 133mph any day.
I have dyno-tuned many cars in the past and the numbers can be manipulated easily to read more. Dynos are just a tool to see changes in mods, doesn't tell you how fast your car actually is.
Track and draggy does that much better.

My times with just the Racechip, I would like to improve my trap speeds by 3mph. Wonder if a dyno flash tune can achieve that???

You can tell when the car is moving faster, launches faster etc etc when making passes and the dragy seems to confirm that. My past experiences have usually lied to me when it comes to the dyno

Yeah I'm aligned with you on the Dyno part, my point was its better tool to tune all aspects of the vehicles ability to run and make power where its needed. You can fine tune its abilities. Actual runs and times are done physically IMO. Nothing beats a drag strip.

Agree 100000% with the KPonti....

My 2004 E55 was a time queen but not a dyno version... those damn operators made my numbers look like shit and inflated others to get tune, crank pulley, etc sales.

But my car was faster cause it was built on Sunday at Famoso and other tracks back in the day (no draggy then LOL). The Street is the Truth.
