As much as I prefer Lambos to F-cars, the F40 really has aged quite well.

The F40 to me is about equal to the 'Stradale.

Why? See "Stradale Is God Thread" on 6Speed

IMO, the F40 is the best Ferrari and super car of all time.

I would agree with best Ferrari, but McLaren F1 I consider the best supercar of all time.

I remember reading an article on some Corvette forums that the F40 was so much faster than the F50... that, among other things, led the F50 to be a lease-only type of car, and the car would not be sent to magazines to test drive it. If an owner helped publish performance figures, that person would renege future Ferrari benefits.

That makes me so happy to hear that.

I can't imagine owning a great car and not drive it.

Gorgous cars. Did I notice "orange peel" by the F40 logo on the last pic?

It's the CF weave, and a little orange peel. It's normal.

However, the paint on this car appears thicker than when new. So it could be a respray.

i would venture to say that the McLaren F1 was the most revolutionary supercar of all time, but not the best supercar of all time. after all, even versions of the Koenigsegg previous to the current one outperformed the McLaren F1, and they did so at a lower price point to boot. the F1 was the first of its kind of supercar, but its performance has since been eclipsed by several other supercars.

But that can be said about every other supercar coming out in the next couple of months. I was just saying the F1 was the best because of its revolutionary design, and its dominance at Le Mans in its early years. I don't think Gordan Murray even intended it to be raced.

I will still say that the F40 is the purest Ferrari out there.
