I've never been a fan of the Alpina design treatments (it's not a 'design language' to me since they retrofit a relatively fixed set of aesthetic changes) and this is no different--it looks older somehow. Not a fan. |

The company has a motorsport heritage and pedigree that simply cannot be denied. They also have the fastest sedan in the world with the 2020 B7 able to hit 205mph.

Aside: perhaps your Bimmerpost alias indicates a slight bias. What do you think? As for the fastest sedan: I've no idea since that metric isn't readily measurable where I live. But, that said--define fast? It seems you mean straight line? OK... so Alpina tweak the already-powerful N63 engine variant, right. So you need to compare it to another tweaked car--level playing fields are important. Given that, are you saying that you don't think a comparably tweaked M8 or M850i can match or beat it... when they're essentially either the same base ingredients or a more track-focused version of it. You're more than welcome to your opinion but you've literally zero chance of altering mine. |

1..soon we will able to code Alpina M8 display with bimmecode 2..Alpina has is own dumpers settings that probably works better with Kw or other after marrket springs and some of you more expert can code on M8. |

I have always loved Alpina and dreamt of one for a long time. And I still like them a lot and hear about their excellent comfort and everyday drivability that everyone who has driven one mentions and swears on.
But if I wanted, and could afford the ultimate machine and top performance right now it would undoubtedly be an M8 coupled with a daily driver as the former would be like a piece of jewel to be taken out just on rare and special occasions. |

I'll throw out a different theory here.
I love an XB7, B4 Vert, B5 Touring, B6 Gran Coupe, B7, B8 Gran Coupe, but I want an M4 Coupe, M6 Coupe, M8 Coupe, not the Alpina versions. I view an Alpina as a cruiser more than an M car, hence my views on the models I like from each brand.

How to ruin a great looking car 101, same treatment to B6 GC... M variants look way better and internal quality is not far off (if at all)

For me I'd go with a 2021 M8 GC in Verde Ermes (sounds like the free Individual is still in play) and then consult limeypride on how to mod the car making the B8 look like a complete waste of cash. Granted there are others out there in which having an Alpina variant will put a little extra swagger in their step. However, my swagger falls well below the radar of the car I'm driving and it takes a fellow horologist to even spot it.
