That is my assertion, too, but I don't think I ever saw the two insurance-savvy folks agree or make such a strong statement as yours/mine.

Don't see how this is "blah blah" the guy is correct. Person puts 10 grand down, then totals car, insurance pays the dealer for the car. The 10 grand is smokes!

So if I get a $100k 840, what is a rough price that people are actually ending up paying? -$3k for loyalty and then how much else are people seeing them being discounted?

When I read this thread, it seems the consensus is NO MONEY DOWN.

How do you handle a scenario like this in the future? Tell them you want to keep the sale of the trade-in vehicle off the deal?

Unfortunately, I'm also noticing I could have gotten closer to $10k pre loyalty (around 9-11% off MSRP of $116,025) and I only got $4k off + $7k loyalty. I just didn't engage in this forum as much as I should have during the purchase...lesson learned

I signed on the lease on 8/27/2020.
0 drive off lease is ideal... depending
What did they give you for the x5?
they could have just cut you a check for the x5.

That seems to be the consensus indeed. I think it was around $12k in equity (after BMWFS loan payoff) for the X5.

The easiest way to deal with trade-ins is a cash-out. They'll cut you a check as mentioned...

Ah, thanks for the breakdown. Hopefully some of this will eventually (soon?) apply to 2021's.

I know the Coupes are done for MY21. So they are offering these incentives for Gran Coupes?

What type of discounts are there on MY20 M850i Coupes?

I'm reading about 20-25% on MY20 M8 Coupes, curious if the same applies to the M850i?

The standard $3K loyalty will apply on top of the best deal you can negotiate but the 2020 M850i coupes were limited allocation as the focus was on the 840i, M850i GCs, and all the M8 variants given they were net new. Basically, BMW limited them due to the gluttony of 2019s no differently than what happened with the M8s. You could get a crazy deal on a 2019 M850i coupe when I ordered my 2020 (1 of 5 allocations in August 2019) but I couldn't find a single 2019 on the ground that met my criteria.

FYI there are only 21 2020 M850i coupes on the ground so if you're interested in a deal on one I'd start ASAP.

What’s the current flagship and launch monies on M8 coupe and verts with and without competition? Anything like what folks were scoring this past summer? Seems like quite a lot of cars just sitting on lots, and I would have thought Dec would be a time to move them. But maybe bc there will be no MY2021 for coupe/verts, dealers aren’t being as aggressive.

There he is lol . So after we exchanged bits on your m4cs deal and my m850 in may I got my hands on a launch car m8 convertible unicorn deal which I ended up getting and unloaded the 850. I think January February when lease programs are about to tank on m8s 2020 ( unless Bmw sometimes extends lease support into April may June ) u should be able to get 20-21% off on dealer stock.

Lol, yup it's me, but you definitely have me beat! There's a local M8 non-comp coupe that has been sitting forever. Production 10/19. Didn't I read at some point, more flagship monies were offered on cars with a certain production date?

Really would like to know the actually amounts, before I even bother. Edmunds replied that there are no programs in PA (what?) and when I started a thread over at Leasehackrs, a bunch of the brokers were bitchin that I was asking for too much information rather than finding the answers on my own, and the mods closed the thread (wtf?). What's happened over there?!?

BTW, love the pic!

Launch cars have dried up completely . They were 21-23% off including flagship but excluding rebates. At this time there are no exciting programs on the m8. The residuals are horrible and with no 2021 coupes and cabs I'm sure they will have lease support well into mid summer . My humble suggestion is to do what u and I are both good at scavenge a deal on budget lol . Keep looking call the dealers annoy them with your low ball offers see who bites lol.

Technically, yes its me again LOL, FS monies are off the vin of the car but in general there are more from the initial builds.

Case in point, I was at Crevier BMW last week and my good friend runs it so he should me the internal dealer system, we plugged in an m8 built in 11/19 and it has 10k in FS monies while another M8 in Dravit had 12k with the same build month. Its what the factory assigned to the VIN.

Most dealers "punched" their cars already gaining the FS monies and then will take loser deals on the cars when or if they actually sell them down the road. At BMW the dealer can punch the car without starting the warranty clock. Other brands dont have that luxury.
