I think they are way nicer and slicker than the originally and currently mounted ones, not to mention when compared to the standard rubber ones from the past.

As for why the M850i is not listed you are spot on, i.e., there is no "M Sport" option as it was built in from day 1 given it was the launch car for the entire 8-series. The 840i's came along in 2020 as a variant to offer less performance (with an appropriate price tag to match) but also the "M Sport" design option (up charge) to physically match the M850i's.

Now here's where it gets interesting. I spent some time on the BMW configurator and the only way I can get the plastic foot rest to come up is on the 840i without M Sport. Any M850i (coupe or convertible) with Ivory White or any combination (Ivory/Night Blue or Ivory/Tartufo) all display the metal foot rest. So perhaps this was a 2019 M850i faux pas on cars equipped with Ivory White interiors as with the 2021s (and guessing the 2020s) that would not be the case.

Yes I get the same when simulating the local BMW configurator here and indeed as per post nr. 15 the only M850i I found with the plastic foot rest is a MY 2019.

I think post 8 is saying the footrest is part of the floor covering. Would explain possible configurator issue.

Yes, but it appears to be a 2019 issue vs 2020 (unless someone confirms otherwise) and definitely not on the 2021s. As stated the configurator accurately depicts the plastic foot rest on the 840i's without the M Sport package but everything else comes along with the metal foot rest.

Stunningest for me if contrast color was grey and look was monochromatic. Stunninger with light mats/blue trim.

Yep, that's what any 2020 or 2021 gets with Ivory White/Night Blue for an interior. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it in the comparison of a M850i vs 840i as it is only available in the 840i "M Sport" spec which does indeed display the metal foot rest. However, using the Ivory White/Tartufo interior the metal footrest exists for a M850i as well as the 840i with the "M Sport" design but the 840i gets that lovely plastic footrest.

Yep, it’s part of the floor covering (ie not a separate part)...mine has a couple of scuffs...when I tried to order a metal footrest the dealer searched and there was no metal part made for RHD vehicles...I than asked for a replacement plastic footrest and they told me that it was part of the floor and not a separate item.

Hi, just to let you all know, ordered mine in July 2021, delivered Sept 2021, has the Ivory and Blue interior (looks stunning), however comes with the plastic footrest :-(
Did anyone find an aftermarket for a RHD ?

Glad they didn't do this for the G05/G07. I wouldn't have gotten the Ivory/Night Blue interior combo having 3 rows with light carpeting. The night blue with ivory trim mats are a nice touch, subtle along with the the night blue alcantara, carpeting, and a nice shiny metal footrest.
