Warning to the ill informed: ie if you get your news form FB. China trade policy doesn't benefit anyone but them and all the political hacks before Trump did nothing to hold them accountable -nice that someone finally has the ballz to help even the playing field. So be it if the US economy has a slow down, still better off than most of the world and it's time to stick it to them even if it effects the US a bit. Better in the long run, think of where the economy would be had he not been elected.

China has been getting away w/ murder for years and the stealing of intellectual property is a real thing. It's unfortunate that companies and consumers will be burdened w/ the increases costs, however, you can only be bullied so long -it's all a negotiation tactic

If you're looking to assign economic performance strictly to the elected president, I think this stat can help with that thinking (presented without narrative):

First 31 months in office, stock market performance:

Trump: +31.1%

Obama: +45.2% (148.3% over 2 terms, inherited the worst economy in nearly 80 years)

GWB: -13.5% (-26.5% over 2 terms)

Clinton: +39.3% (228.9% over 2 terms)

Yes...that's definitely something to think about.

It's not only the USA who behaved and behaves wrong regarding China. Look at KUKO who delivers most of the robots for BMW plants. Initially a pure German factory, the owners took the money and sold it to a Chinese group. We are all guilty. But the trade war of Trump is not the solution, because it affects to much of our own prosperity.
My country has a big supply industry serving all German car makers and they already have to fire people. Bad!
