I've got a line on a used white/SO with some added ///M and individual parts, but the dealer won't lease, only finance (they say bc its a loaner). The guy is so nice, but I'm just not interested in buying a $160K car (even if its discounted almost $40K) that will depreciate significantly next year. Although the tax benefits could be there...

BMW should have copied MB and Lexus who extend the color of leather you get into the top's headliner, really brightens up the cabin. Was in an E-Cabriolet with Beige and Red leather and the roof was beige Alcantara inside and really brightened things up with the top closed.

Not test driving a car before buying a car is recipe for disaster IMO. Nothing beats seeing a car in the flesh, sitting in it to get the feel on steering/seating position & overall quality and then best take the car home for the weekend. This is a car I would first sit in before making a decision... Last edited by Wolfman64; 08-02-2020 at 05:58 PM.. |

I agree it's a big purchase, but our last four BMWs have been purchased off cell phone pictures and we're quite happy. I also agree though that going from a big X5 to an M8 Coupe....when you're 6'6'' is a risk...but if the price is right, this would be a great weekend tourer. Certainly, my wife and I are the exception, not the rule, but our respective schedules often prove to be firm and surprisingly unforgiving. Point well taken though. The dealer near me has an M850GC but I doubt that will have the same feel as the M8 Coupe...

I've purchased many cars without seeing them or driving them. I almost did this with the M8 Comp Convertible. I had the deal all worked out after I found the car I wanted and then I drove an M8 non comp. It wasn't for me. I would have sold my AMG C63s for the M8 but it wasn't good enough to make me want to change. I ended up making a deal instead on a X7 M50i that will replace my QX80. It's scheduled to be built next month if the Tanzanite blue doesn't hold it up.

My last 4 M cars I've obtained sight unseen, been happy with this experience and honestly this is a major time saver.

Any thoughts on what is a reasonable offer (% off MSRP pre loyalty) on an 2020 M850 GC?
I count 137 850/840 GC's in SoCal. That's a lot with the '21's arriving next month. It doesn't look like there is any flagship money to move these cars right now as far as I can tell, but that could change Sep. 1. |

A lot of the remaining vehicles, particularly coupes, have undesirable builds and dealers are going to have to discount them heavily in order to move them. Before purchasing an M8, look carefully at each option package and make sure you understand what you're getting, especially with the different Driver Assistance packages. Unless you plan on traveling to South Carolina or California for the driving course, or taking your car on a track, the $2,500 M Driver's Package is a waste.
