BMW Intentionally moved the entire line-up, farther up the food chain.

1er is now the 2er

3er is now the 4er

6er is now the 8er

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

The 8 Cabrio comes later this year. With The M8 debuting in the Spring. And The 8 Gran Coupe debuting in Summer 2019.
M8 Gran Coupe later in 2019.

So the M8 isn't going to have wider fenders than the regular 8 series?

The 8 is very much well in proportion. It's broad shoulders especially at the rear will be very beneficial to the M8 hugging those 20" wheels.
Any broader then it becomes comical.
The 8 is a wide Car in person. Once we add the M attributes of wider track, big tyres then we have a substantial sports car that straddles the equator of Performance and luxury.
The 8 also passes on its more sportier lessons to the next 4er allowing it be more sportier than a derivative of a sport sedan.

I spotted one on the autobahn earlier on my holiday. Looks stunning even though it's with full camo

Over the previous 2 gens of M, you always got the impression that there was a chance for more but something was withheld at the market phase, then at the zenith of its life the penultimate version rights the wrongs or addresses the real character of the car.

The 8’ is a real opportunity for BMW to crush the competition in the way that its original Ms did generations ago. In this segment with the big hitters out there, BMW needs to make a real point and the M8 needs to walk the walk that it is talking about now. I am really excited and also anxious about M8’s arrival and hope it inspires in the way its more successful forebaears did.

8 Series Spy Shots!

Found this beauty on my way to work last night. 8 series right? Wish I had my DSLR instead of my crappy phone.

It's been a few months, but the BMW M8 prototype has just been spotted hustling around the Nurburgring as it continues testing.

Looks like the concept rear bumper is back. This is great news.

Add 20K+ min for the M8GC base to set expectations
GC is cheaper than the convertible. Expect it to be priced between the m8 Coupe and Convertible, like all other "GranCoupe" models in BMW's lineup.

I assume because this is pre production so no hood bulge? It has a V8 so it should have one and the bulge would be needed to test aero. Also why doesn't the M5 have one?

Someone should make an aftermarket CF hood with the bulge as there isn't enough to set it apart from a non m car.
