M850i Coupe vs M850i Grand Coupe

Hi fellow 8er's,

I've had my 2019 M850i in Dravit Grey since December 2019. While my lease isn't up for another year I'm having a new baby join the family. I'm already thinking of what my next daily driver is going to be. Withholding any new products that come to market (like the X8) I've considered:

1. M5 (comp) - looks too plain for me and doesn't really pop. Too much of a sleeper car
2. X5m (comp) - really nice but pricey for the product. Also seems like a downgrade from my 850.
3. X6m (comp) - also really nice but a bit awkward of a shape.
4. M850i/M8 Grand Coupe - sort of a front runner

My wife has a Mercedes GLE SUV, so we're covered on a 4 door. I was wondering what the groups thoughts were and if anyone has had any experience with a baby seat in the back of a Grand Coupe?

Thanks in advance for your comments...

Sounds like the GC was created for these kinds of situations...and congrats on the new human addition to the family

I seen a car seat in an M6GC a few times, no drama - but it wasn't mine tho.

I think m8gc will work well here. Cheers to the new family member!

Congrats on the new addition!

I had my youngest in the back of my M6 GCs and—backseat-wise—they're no larger, nor smaller, than my M8 GC. A baby seat will fit just fine IMO.

You can fit a forward facing babyseat with ease into an M850i Coupe, but not a rear facing due to the aperture of the front seat when it's folded forwards.

It can be done, but the low roof line and small opening means I wouldn't want to be doing it on a regular occasion.

Once the little one is over 18 months, and can be forward facing, there is space in the back, but not a lot.

The GC is a much better buy for baby purposes
