Cut that in half (or better) if you're ok with RHD!

Bring a Trailer has this 7,000 mile '94 Supra with the bid currently at $90,000 and two days to go. Reading the comments, those "in the know" are impressed.

The supra turbo of that gen was not that great of a handler, was quite heavy, had a very laggy stock turbo and some could argue didn't even look that great. The other problem being that everyone now builds turbo motors that are significantly better and more modern (BMW to name one company). No one even cared about Supras until the movies and they weren't modded by anyone to run below 12 seconds in the 1/4 until mid 2000s lol. The current GTR can also run 6 seconds in the 1/4 w the proper mods and can be had for 50K all day for the car. BMW has incredible M cars now that are significantly more luxurious and can also be modded to be quick, as can plenty AMGs... it even shows Toyota can no longer create magic as they needed to borrow the most important components for the new car from BMW. |

cars go up in value because they become desirable. whether that's from movies, films, positive reviews, the way they look, the way they drive, whatever----they generate excitement. The last generation Supra WAS a really good handling car for its era, and had very distinctive looks. It had a big fat spoiler, weird taillights, and a muscular body. Sure it was in F&F but that merely served to introduce a new generation of kids and people to the car. I'm not surprised they went up in value. The RX7 from that era is also going up in value now....they were cool cars that were relatively affordable then and outperformed other sports cars of that era.

People sorta liked the car, but once TFATF came out, I became a rock star almost overnight. I couldn't go anywhere without being hounded, tailed, hooted at while driving, etc. It was nuts, completely nuts. I only kept it for around 18 months though, the allure of the quick cashout once values seemingly sky rocketed over night was just too much for me to ignore. It helped pay for law school that's for sure! Since then, the only car I've owned which compares to it is the M4 I have currently. The M4 reminds me a lot of the Supra, but stock vs. stock the M4 is of course a superior machine. Can't really explain it, but I do like driving the M4 far more than I ever did the Supra as well. That Getrag transmission in the Supra was such a pain in the ass, I never liked it much. I really, really miss the targa though, the turbo noises, and the huge FMIC I had on it which unfortunately the M4 will never have. |

I was 16 when the 4th gen came out. WAY before F&F. We were all obsessed with the Supra Turbo back then. Instant legend. This was a car that was literally as fast as a Ferrari in a straight line. The performance numbers were awesome for the time and unreal at that price point. |

That's only few, just like e30 m3 can be 100k and some can be 40k. There is plenty of supras you can find 35-45k. I know a guy who was selling his 1996 white TT for 35k mileage was around 100k.

I hope everyone is aware that a Supra was never a cheap car... 43k in 1993 is equivalent to approx 75k in 2018... I would genuinely be curious how many people would pay that for a Supra today if it came out... IMHO, it would need to be at least a GTR level car to command that type of pricing.
