With a budget of around 70K, I am thinking of switching to a new M440i coupe, or a used M850i(year 2019, mileage 25K). I am very attracted to the V8 engine and Bowers & Wilkins sound system on M850, but M440 has a brand new iD8 system, and it's similar to my current 435i. Any suggestion on what car should I choose? Which is more fun to drive on local roads and which is more handy? I like how my 435 drives, so I want to have a similar feeling!

I went from a tuned 440 GranCoupe to a M850 vert and have 0 regrets. Nothing makes me smile more than putting it in Sport+, stepping on the pedal, and listening to the V8. As far as ID8 even though from a function perspective I’m sure it’s great, I just don’t find the appearance of having 4 iPads glued together on my dash attractive.

4 series is the sensible choice.

But the 8 series makes me feel fantastic. It’s excessive, inefficient and not the most practical but I like it.

For luxury and v8 sound and unique look as well road presence i will go m850i
For fun to drive on twisty roads and more nimble and latest technology will go 440i

I went from loaded m340i to m850i vert, felt at home same id7 and features. New gained roofless option and V8 soijdn track. Easily double the mpg of my redeye hellcat charger. NO RAGRETS.

If you plan on routinely having passengers in the back seat, go with the 4 series.
