i know everyone isn't agreeing with you but if you went this far to get it, then it must've been a dream of yours to grab that car. congrats man!

automatic is always going to take away some fun in my opinion. what's the story behind the GTS-T and not a full blown GT-R?

I suspect US used car importing laws are similar to Canada...if it is a certain age (something like over 10+ years)...you can import any car privately...even if it is right hand drive...and you do not need to convert.

There are lots of Japanese cars locally here that have been imported...all right hand drive.

lemme try to answer all questions. its a 95 r33 2.5 liter inline 6 turbo. its about 270 hp right now. not a ton. but with a few mods, it could EASILY be 400 horse. i went with an automatic for a few reason. it was cheaper, and if i want a 5 speed, i can do the swap later. but, the auto is even more rare here in the states. if i could have found a 4 door skyline in the states i would have bought that just for its rareness. gtr START at like 50k. i couldnt spend that kind of money right now. i have had a bmw. and i can tell people i have had a bmw. but at this point, i was ready for something more fun, something that i can do a lot of stuff to, and some stuff on my own. i definitely could have gotten a g35 but that wouldnt have helped my two objectives. something RHD and something with a turbo.
The other reason i got this car (automatic) cause its VERY very low mileage, probably babyed in japan. the car has 53,000 KILOMETERS. you can do the math, its exremely low miles. most sticks i found were built to drift, probably dogged, and had very high mileage. Besides, most 8 or 9 second cars nowadays are automatic anyway.

I can agree on the 8-9 sec autos. Some of the fastest modded Supras are autos, as they get off the line much quicker with an auto tranny. regardless congrats on your new baby. I would not mind having one myself.

i wish that was the case for the US, but it's not true.

doesn't matter what age it is, the car still needs to go through the federalization / conversion process.

a friend of mine recently got an e34 alpina b10 biturbo done.

you guys in canada are lucky.

Nice R33 GTS .... The RB25 motor is tuff to find oil filers for and they are like $50 each!

ALso for everyone asking how he got a R33 in the states .... they are legal to bring in as its the only model Motorex actually got fully crash tested and the paper work submitted. The car still must go through a series of being "US prepped" where the change out the crash beams and adjust emissions equipment. All those R32s and R34s are not legal here ... as Motorex did some major fraud and the owner of the company is in Jail for it ... tech the ones that are here could be crushed if the authorities really wanted to press the issue.

Dude, congrats on the car.
It'll take some time/money, but it has great potential. Most important is that you got the car you wanted.

The interior can always be changed out. Nothing but a pair of Bride racing seats can't fix.
