Mineral White Exterior Tartufo/black interior.
In a perfect world it would have been a Cognac interior, but that's extremely difficult to find. I definitely do like the look of Tartufo/black though Last edited by TWO-BMW; 03-17-2024 at 12:18 PM.. |

Any suggestions on what you feel are optimal settings for suspension etc. would be appreciated. Obviously, I'll experiment, but I have a very long trip home starting right after I take possession of the car.
I did notice in one test drive that with the suspension in "sport" or "sport something" on ales than ideal road surface, the car really became uncomfortable to drive. I switched at least one element to "comfort", but realize there are many options which play together in varying ways. |

Still hoping for some input on this apparent issue:

Oil changes around every 6k-8k miles (BMW “recommends” 10k miles). Only thing I ever did was pads & fluid. Spark plugs before I sold the car with 50k miles" Can you describe the coolant top offs more thoroughly? In terms of roughly how often to check, what to expect, etc. It would be much appreciated. I'm assuming this is simply common to this model of car and everyone has had to do it? |

Doesn't seem to be a "common" issue with me. At 36,000 miles, I've topped off once.......and it was a very small amount. This car has been bulletproof. So far.

For what it's worth some 2019s and my 2020 were delivered via the VPC in Long Beach without proper coolant levels. There are old threads on that. After about 6 months of driving I too got the message. Called my SA and he said check the turbo tank (which was fine) so safe to drive and bring it in and we'll top it off. That was now over 3 years ago and haven't had an issue since. Granted they may have topped off during the annual maintenance appointments but checking the invoices on them no mention whatsoever. |

Thanks for the clarification!
I flew out and picked up my car on Tuesday, late afternoon. It had passed it's PPI with flying colors, and the final comment from the tech was, "probably the car in the finest condition of anything I've seen in at least the past five years. It could be put into a showroom and solad as new. Just superb condition, and car, all around!". It truly is literally that good, and I drove it for twelve hours over two days, to get home. The car is just amazing. And I have had a number of highly revered cars before this one. I can see why Car and Driver said "a bargain at $120k vs the Bentley Continental GT at $150k more. We tested the M850i on the same day we did the Bentley Continental GT, and it was freakish how closely the two big GTs mirrored each other's performance. The BMW's 656-pound weight advantage offset its deficit of 103 horsepower. Both cars hit 60 mph in the same 3.3 seconds, ran the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds at 123 mph, and pulled 0.98 g on the skidpad. The big differences between the two aren't comfort or performance but presence and price. A BMW simply can't bowl over valets the way a Bentley does." I'll happily take the $150k savings, much less the added on depreciation that allowed to me to essentially steal a car of this level, and quality. Thanks to everyone for their comments that helped me to make the ultimate decision to buy this amazing car. I look forward to many years of enjoying it every day. |

https://youtu.be/Wm-9aO8BhUE?si=zqxFv4wq61_qRcc3 See above as from a driving performance perspective there is a clear winner. My M850i garnishes plenty of "looks" but not why I bought the car. |

Those of you finding well equipped used, M850i are lucky sonz a biatches.
What a great position to find oneself coming into the BMW V8 market and looking at the used coupes/convertibles. That car rocks. I had a 2019 for two years. In Canada I paid $197k for my 2022 fully equipped M8. No regrets but not like you had a substandard car paying $135k for an M850. Getting them at todays price point, compared to M8 at todays price point, can’t lose with an M850. |

Smattered all over the forum in the random 8, rear end, park like Vic etc. threads but here's the one that started it all including since a December delivery the typical red bow on the hood.
https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1676619 BMW FUBAR'd the 2nd order with Cerium vs the chrome line I ordered (figured it make the Tanzenite pop more). Dealer made it all right on their dime with OEM Shadowline parts plus CF mirror caps. In retrospect it was the best thing ever as I prefer the stealthiness of the Shadowline over the chrome and if do a 2025 well it's Shadowline all the way. https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1682472 Attached are a couple of favorites. The painted desert shot is in the rearview thread. The other is from one of my local desert performance drives that I don't believe I ever posted. However, use it from time to time for my Teams background when in only internal company meetings vs when a vendor is involved. Ironically planned on adding 2 pics from yesterday to the random 8 so doing so now. 👍 |

Although I don't own the second generation 8, I have a 1991 850i and was looking forward to the second gen to come out. All the of the marketing and pre-launch pictures of the sec gen 8 looked so awesome. I was really excited until... I'm not bashing on the second gen 8, still love it but it would have been a different story if otherwise. Perhaps one day, I will be able to add the second gen 8 to my garage, parked next to the first gen 8. Cheers. |

Not leaving the garage until snow is gone, roads completely dry and clear and temperatures above 40. The car has a brand new set of Pirelli
P-Zero Corsa's on it. They are not rated for safe use under 40 degrees. Much less in snow. I will have to address that next fall with another set of tires to be purchased. |

The N63T3 and S63T4 in the current 8-series have been rock solid. Wish I could say the same for the B58 with the new 48 volt mild hybrid on it and the S68 with the same. Don't want to jinx it as my wife's 40i LCI so far has no issues but others have been bricked by the 48 volt mild hybrid (mostly 50e's but has hit M60i's and 40is). Which shows up as the kiss of death, i.e., Drive Train malfunction on the iD8 console. |

On the other BMW online forum, collectively, I believe it has the best group of e31 owners/enthusiasts around. A lot of folks on that forum are extremely knowledgeable and mechanically savvy. I owe all of my knowledge of the e31 platform to the folks on that forum. I envy and admire all of the current 8 series owners, and most certainly wish you all a very satisfiable ownership journey. My hats off to you all. Cheers, Chris |
