This car is so big and heavy for drift...
Noise tells the truth...

I can literally feel the weight of that car through the video. Those tires are working extra hard to keep that thing on the track.

The 8 does appear to be well composed while its tires scream for mercy, however. Just watched the X4M40i video and the tires aren't protesting near as much |

Wow, the car looks all over the place, it looks like a hard to handle vehicle.
Many expect a BMW nimble car, yet it seems that is not the case... We shall see the reviews. |

I only watched the first minute or so of the vid but the car looked smooth to me. It was holding its line and handling the curves just fine.

In comparison....The green AMG in the video looks easely faster , and goes effortless through the corners .
As for the new 8...That looks like a fat pig in a fight against the overweight !

Not sure why everyone thinks the car is not doing well on track. From the video it looks like the chassis is pretty composed and being relatively flat through corners. The tire screech is just what happens when you take street tires onto a track with a lot of tread depth and has nothing to do with weight. Try watching a YouTube video of a Toyota 86 on the ring and you'll hear the same screeching sound; that car weighs less than 3000 pounds...

Can't believe some of the comments on here!
The cars seems incredibly composed through the drifts with no snap back and really nice transition. You barely see the other cars yet people are trying to compare those cars to the 8 series. The Merc 4x4 that can be seen briefly you can see was hard on the brakes and most likely with traction control on. The BMW looks amazing. And that's why the reviews have been so positive |

Ahhh, I was looking for results feeling the Nurburgring... Oh, wait. This isn't about the 24h. NVM. Nice to see a big car drifting. Reminds me of watching the early M6s on the track.
