BMW just designs a M8 which is totally new from the scratch.

And yes, BMW did destroy MB's newly born car. Good luck MB, next time.
To each his own but me personally I think MB is doing a much better job at the moment.
They have a contemporary but at the same time elegant design that will age well.
The MB lineup has a is fresh whereas BMW feels a bit traditional and not at all bold.
Like the E-class, a completely new design compared to the older version and it works perfectly for the buyers.
New 5-series looks dull and not at all interested in what the competition has to offer.
Can't deny that this concept is trying to bring something new to the competition but I think that they should work more with clean design where lines float smoother.

-The front bumper on this one looks like it's been taken from an X6, can't say I'm a fan.
-Rear bumper is a nightmare, so many lines and angles and vents
-What happened to the H-kink? This is ugly!
- The lines on the doors, why so agressive?

Overall, it can turn up to be beautiful but I would like more art and not just design aimed towards the the young crowd and the mob.
Don't get me wrong, I like agressive design but it has to come with some elegance also.

I liked the concept VFL because it was bold and looked expansive. At the same time it was elegant and agressive. It brought new lines through the whole car. That's the way I'd like BMW to take.
For now, looks like my next car can as well be the new Volvo v60. I bet the new 3-series won't hold a candle to it
Different people have different opinions about car. Personally, my next car is definitely 8-series coupe. I worry that they gonna mess it up so my second choice is Porsche (yes I don't like the concept, too impractical). Mercedes is just too plain. Their interior is elegant but their double lazy screen mess it up. I owned Mercedes before and don't like how they drive but I respect that. BMW is for more aggressive driver. They should design that way and stay that way. This is just my 2 cents

I really like the front end, but not so much of the rear... Good job on the wheel design and color combination though.

I don't think a V12 is gonna happen, as EU is gonna stop selling the M760 V12, so wouldn't it be pointless to launch a new car with a V12 only for the rest of the world?

Guessing the price tag of the M8 GC, I think it's gonna be around Panamera Turbo range... Does BMW really think it can outsell the Panamera Turbo?? Not saying that the M8 is gonna lack the performance or anything, but BMW is still BMW and most people would go for the Porsche just like that

M8 GC certainly kills the AMG GT-4, but unless it remains close to what the M6 GC's price tag is, it's gonna be a hard seller and rather stupid. I personally went for the F06 M6 simply because it out performs the Panamera, except Turbo/Turbo S, but there was also a good price gap between the Panamera Turbo/Turbo S and the M6.

Will find out in about 2 years?

Hear that? That's the sound of dealerships far and wide drooling over the thought of selling gold plating "upgrades" again.

Let me guess, production M8 rear bumper will in fact be identical to the M Sport, with just the black part swapped for an M-specific diffuser and tailpipe layout?

Holy Crap. A tad depressing

You know, with that interior, I pass Mercedes anytime. Flat double screen with vents that make me puke...
Even for free, I will sell it and get something else.

Clearly they're trying to re-productize the 6er but this size/type/price point just doesn't seem to be on-brand

Nice car, but for $150K or more? Nah.

I am on the opposite side.
For me Mercedes blew it really bad.
Design wise, they are so feminine now, with too fluid lines and fruity shape, butterfly taillights and a terrible terrible interior; with round vents, double flat screens with a "wall" design dash bord, and the new headlights which again scream feminine, Mercedes is not the car for me.

I am a man and I actually like a conservative design with modern lines. Just too much of it and you fall under the kitsch side like Mercedes did. For me at least.

Will not buy a Mercedes anyway, the don't offer a proper anticorrosive warranty and rust like crap since are not treated as BMW or Audi. Not worth the money.

BMW is now into fictional literature. The production car will look nothing like this. They will beat this concept with the ugly stick an produce a let down.

not quite exactly

Yellow lights have been used in endurance racing for decades.. and of course were employed on the M8 GTE racing in the GTLM class for the Rolex 24 hour race in February.

here is a description of the some of the race rules..

http://nasportscar.com/sportscar-rac...-championship/

"Another distinguishing feature, that’s included with both GT classes, are the yellow headlights. This is an especially handy feature, when you’re looking at the cars coming at you after dark. "

what was the reason for the GC being formally shown prior to the regular coupe model....?

Will BMW be bringing the 8 GC to market in sedan format prior to the 8 series coupe as they do with the 3 and 4 ?

If the current M6GC goes for $14X....this thing is a bit closer to $200k.
