Nice "entry level" tripod?

I'm looking to get something that'll hold my nikon D90 with the 70-200mm lens. I have the 18-200mm also, but as my kid starts getting into sports, I'll probably use the 70-200mm more...any suggestions?

I was looking at the Manfrotto 7301YB as the price point is affordable $170ish...thoughts?

TIA

I wouldn't recommend a tripod for shooting sports, but a monopod instead. Sports is all about action and movement, and that tripod is going to get in your way more than it will help. Unless you spring for a gimbal head of course, but that is big bucks.

Decent monopods can be had for around $100.

I have the following:

Monopod: Manfrotto 559B. It's no longer sold @ B&H but I got it for $80. It's a 4-section monopod that supports up to 17lbs and came with a quick release head. The head can be removed so I can put a different head on, though.

Tripod: Manfrotto 190XB ($140 @ B&H)

I don't use them much, as is evident by the 'Night Photography' thread, but am happy with them when I do. I agree with scollins about the monopod for sports shooting. Tripods are bulky to begin with (which is why I don't use mine much). Monopods are easier to deal with and, if you're good with a bo, make for excellent self defense weapons.

Tripods are pretty different for video and photo. Video tripods usually allow smooth gliding movements with the head while photo tripods are designed to be locked down. I guess you could use a video tripod for photography, but they are usually quite bulky in comparison.

I have the Velbon El Carmagne 530 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Pan Head for my D90 and love it. It's pretty light weight due to CF legs and the pan head will be great for video. It's about $247 on Amazon.
