I'd be happy to share more info, especially if it helps to curb down the current ADM-trend. Furthermore, I'm completely fine with sending traffic to dealers that offer allocations at MSRP vs. opportunistic dealers that ask for MSRP + ADM. It's a win-win situation.

Unfortunately, I'm new to this forum as well, so I'm not sure what would be the best way to connect..

Meanwhile, I'd probably consider cold calling all the dealerships that are near your area you'd feel comfortable picking the car from, as per hinckley's advice (that's how I ended up with my MRSP allocation). My dealer also offered to ship the car to from CA to WA, but I'm fine with the road trip.

Here's a thought…

There are markets where the 8 just doesn't sell. Do a search on CarGurus and see who still has 2022's available…call them and see if they have any 2023 allocations.

Yes, I got very lucky and someone backed out of their M8 convertible production build and we were able to trade the allocation for the competition coupe!

Given you're on the East Coast it would be a similar drive back from CA but my dealer here in AZ will do MSRP on an order vs ADM. Not sure of the rules in the forum but if you search BMW dealers in Phoenix it would be the one in Scottsdale. If you call and they say otherwise let me know and I can have me CA step in and ensure MSRP but there is a chance they may not want to deal with an out of state purchase.

Good to know. Mind sharing how much of a discount after your broker's fees?

Thanks for all the great advice! I also got very lucky and was able to find a local dealer willing to give me an allocation for an M8 Gran Coupe at MSRP. Delivery will be in the beginning of August. Only problem now is I'm stuck between Aventurin Red Metallic and Frozen Pure Grey Metallic (definitely a good problem to have ) All of the members on here were right, I just needed to pick up the phone and call around

My advice is Aventurin Red metallic as gorgeous but a sleeper as not many on the road. Was on my short list but the wife nixed it so you know how that goes. Personally I'd avoid a Frozen aka matte paint all together. You can even turn the Aventurin Red to matte with a PPF wrap. Pick any other color of your choice in metallic and the same applies but way less maintenance.

Decided to go with Aventurin Red Metallic for the same reasons. It also has great depth and really accentuates the lines of the M8. And I'm already looking into the XPEL stealth PPF as an option with my installer

I too was nervous with Silverstone as if I went with a 2020 M8 coupe it was my color of choice for interior and would have argued the wife off the ledge for Aventurin as Tanzanite Blue was not an option. However, having experienced Silverstone first hand after the fact as my dealer let me take a M8 coupe out for a drive with it as the interior while they did the cerium eradication program it's not too light to worry about. I still would pass on Ivory but there are many positive posts on the forum that it too can stand up against the normal wear.

Just ordered a M850 x drive convertible. They dropped the $4000.00 ADM because I am a customer. They said they stick to their guns on the 4k for out of town buyers. Didn’t realize what they meant until I read this thread. They are “hoping for October”. We shall see. Gives me time to sell my current one. Anyone looking for a really nice 2015 650i convertible with 22,000 miles?

Wow, that's kinda crazy. I know that's how things are in places these days, but I'd just say thanks and move on to the next dealer for any dealers that wanted to charge extra. Heck, I'm still asking for and getting discounts.

I went through a broker. I'd never done it before, but it worked out well.

I just tried to go through a broker and they did absolutely jack shit for me except waste 2 weeks of my time and then say he couldn't get me a deal because I'm out of state. Like tell me that right away then….
