Fun video.

I'd love to see how they compare over 100mph.

I thought the m8 was faster than the m5? This seems to be slightly slower.

Super cool video though.

It was dampened. Probably that affected the numbers by some tenths. Interesting comparison nevertheless.

It's amazing how far cars have come in the last 15 years.. it used to be a liter bike would win all the metrics by a landslide...

I really enjoyed that WAY more than I thought I would! Both beautiful machines.

Having owned a CBR1000RR myself, I'd vouch for the visceral experience that only a two wheeler can provide, no matter how fast modern cars go today.

That's damned impressive! The M8 just doesn't quit. Every performance test of this thing is just batshit insane

I was a very avid motorcycle owner/rider (many Ducati's, CBR's etc) until cell phones/texting and general driver distraction took over. While I agree you'll never get the visceral feel of speed that 2 wheels gives you they have become too dangerous. My m3 is the grown up version of a crotch rocket!

Not trying to take anything away from this video as they are on a track and being safe. Great video!!! M8 and S1000rr are absolute beasts!!

I agree 100%. Sadly I felt much safer riding in Japan in the early 00's than I would in today's traffic. Even though I miss it, my m4 definitely fills that void.

My last bike was a new Ninja ZX10R tuned, decatted, etc...wildly fast. After several bikes and many miles I put it all down- and I miss it, but I think I used up most of my cat lives. Haven't ridden in about 8 years.. I will say my F80 helped fill the void a bit though

Great video, not many cars can make the 1/4 mile race against a bike interesting. I agree with some of the above statements, definitely more concerned when I'm on my bike. I've been hit twice while on my motorcycle, people simply do not pay attention!!! Very lucky both times, relatively low speed collisions, people making left turns pulling out in front of me. I still ride, nowhere near as often now, still an incredible rush of adrenaline when I do. I was always on the lookout for other drivers before the accidents, even more so now!!

When nice bolt on mods come out for the M8, it should be able to run nicely with bikes like the AWD bolt on 911's:

My Daytona R has traction control and shift assist which is awesome and violent but I don't think it has LC.

While I respect your choice I would disagree. I'm also an avid motorcyclist both on road and off and I would never give up that passion only because of the increased risk of distracted drivers. That increased risk is also there when you're in a vehicle. Everything we do from the moment we get out of bed involves risk.

Sometimes its not your fault but the other drivers that you can't anticipate that makes bikes dangerous. The thrill is so much more than a car just be safe and healthy when you ride.

Bikes are fast from standstill but on a roll ive raced a r1 and at highspeeds cause of the drag and wind they can't hang.

Cool video thx, M8's are beastly!
