Has anyone tried the M or Alpina layout option in BimmerCode?

Was wondering if they work or are worth while switching?

I changed the layout in my 2018 750ix to Alpina style and loved the way it looked.

Afraid to try it on my new 850i. I doubt the Alpina layout works because Alpina hasn't touched the 850i yet, but just curious if anyone has? If so, can you post a picture of what it looks like? I think I read that it messed up someone's screen so am hesitant to try.

they work and I've tried all 3 modes. honestly I like the default standard the best.

however that said, next time I use bimmercode I'm probably going to try Alpina again.

Ok they work and didn't give you any issues? Is the M version change the display like the real M8 or a cross of something else?

correct, they work with 0 issues. yes the m display is similar to my m850i but yes it's the same one as on the m8 or m5c. it's slightly different, but it's very similar to "sport" mode for us in the m850i display.

I had an issue...I tried "M". It didnt have the model designation at the top of the display. So I switched back to "BMW" . When I did, it replaced the "M850i" with "M40d". I tried switching back and forth but it was stuck on "M40d". I had to restore the backup to get the M850 back.

I wonder if it has something to do with the adapter. I have the KIWI3. I will likely try to change it today.

Just wondering if anyone liked the change (Alpina or M) or preferred to original layout?

I really like this layout.

Here are all 3 layouts... Alpina, M and Standard 850i. All work fine
